Natural History Museum
We are constantly working to provide our guests with new and enhanced ways to appreciate this area. The Natural History Museum that we started is a good example of our modest attempt to help people to get to know the area and experience it in many different ways. See visual displays of archaeological artifacts, butterflies, moths, insects and amphibians that capture the curiosity of young children, students and scientists alike.
Long before the Mayans came to this area, there were many other forms of life here. So we try and share some of that with our guests and continue to grow the collection of exhibits and experiences that can help people continue to grasp a picture of the setting and everything else that make up this ecosystem, both now and in the past.
I’m in Punta Gorda – thinking about a Historical Society. Are there any established in Belize anywhere? Am familiar with the Houston Historical Society, but would prefer to work in a Belizean atmosphere if there are people here already trying to preserve buildings, landmarks, and such.
Any help?
