After a few of the world’s worst vacations (a hurricane-induced evacuation from Roatan; getting robbed blind in Miami; and enduring a mosquito-infested room in the rainforests of Grenada), you can sign me up for a stay at The Lodge at Chaa Creek! You need only look as far as Trip Advisor to see that this resort is truly exceptional. Reviewers rave about the location, service, rooms, food, decor, and variety of activities; and with national coverage in Delta Sky Magazine, ForbesTraveller, National Geographic Adventure, and Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, I’m pretty convinced Chaa Creek is not to be missed!
The resort offers a unique blend of nature, culture, adventure, and repose–just the ticket for a perfect get-away. Belize is a beautiful destination, and the forest–unspoiled and intact–is full of wildlife and unique plants; and Chaa Creek, with its large, private reserve, really showcases all the best of inland Belize. Right on site, there’s bird-watching, horseback riding, and spa bliss awaiting me; hubby can busy himself with mountain biking and canoeing. But at the end of the day, we can indulge together in a home-grown meal and a comfy room.
For more ambitious excursions, Chaa Creek offers an amazing variety of day tours–everything from cave tubing and helicopter rides to a jaunt into Guatemala exploring a Mayan empire.
It all sounds like the perfect respite–and the ultimate remedy to our last attempts at a paradise vacation. I’m convinced this upscale spa and resort is the single best way to enjoy the jungles of Belize and truly leave your troubles behind.
