Nature Quest Sweepstakes – Essay#21

1 October 2009 No Comment

From the days when I would run around the creek behind my house, and build tree houses, and rope swings. To the time I moved to Hawai’i to swim with sharks and study biology. I have spent my short life doing my best to make it an adventure.

Now I find myself on the brink of my greatest adventure to date marriage. Spending the rest of my life with someone else is bigger than all the tree houses and shark cages I found myself in. And I can’t think of anywhere else I would like to embark on this adventure than at Chaa Creek

We’re ready to venture out of the urban-jungle of Central Texas to the natural jungle of Central America in our first big adventure together. We don’t want to just get our feet wet, we want to jump right in. Trekking into the untouched beauty and mystery of Actun Tunichil Muknal. Saddling up for the ride of a lifetime through the pristine rainforest. Watching the sun kiss the sky goodnight before we head off in search of creatures that make their living under glittering starlight on the night walk.

All of these adventures can only be complemented by the leisurely ambience of the Chaa Creek Lodge. Sore muscles and tired bodies from the day’s adventures can melt away in the Spa. A morning swim followed by a couple of hours paying homage to the sun beside the pool is an integral part to a perfect day relaxing at the Chaa Creek Lodge.

We are ready to get learn about Belize’s past, present, and future, all while learning a little more about each other with every tour, hike, and relaxing afternoon. It would be one of my life’s greatest rewards to say “I do” in the presence of an ancient Mayan temple. From the calm to the wild, Chaa Creek has everything we are looking for in a Belizean adventure
