Vacation Sweepstakes – Essay#51

1 November 2009 No Comment

QUESTION (asked by Mr./Ms. I.M.Green — a discerning eco-traveler):

Helloooo?? Does anyone out there know where I can go to experience a remarkable jungle paradise that’s unspoiled…yet still features the kinds of luxuries that make a vacation seem like a vacation?

ANSWER (given by 99% of the resort operators in the world):

Ahhh, so you’re looking for two separate vacations, then…?

Sigh. That’s how it usually is in the world of travel.

“Pristine Paradise” = two or three continents away; no modern conveniences; carry-your-beef-jerky-&-freeze-dried-potatoes-dinner-in-your-backpack

“Luxury Vacation” = the-spa-is-next-to-the-giant-neon-casino-sign

Well, I say, “no, thanks” — and “no, thanks, again” — to those options!

I’m looking for a vacation that offers the best of both worlds — and I know that The Lodge at Chaa Creek is one of the few places in the world that provides unique “eco-combo” vacations. That’s why I’d truly love to visit The Lodge at Chaa Creek in Belize, Central America. I want to fill my hard-earned vacation days with as many special experiences as possible. And with quaint treehouse and thatched-roof housing options; access to ancient Mayan sites; and luxury spa offerings…well…this unique resort offers more than the best of both worlds: Chaa Creek offers the best of several worlds!

And, remarkably, Chaa Creek scores high in all of the areas that I consider important when I’m dreaming about that elusive Vacation of a Lifetime. If there were such a thing as a “dream vacation checklist card,” the one I’d complete for The Lodge at Chaa Creek would be as filled with checkmarks as this heavenly resort destination is filled with natural wonders.
