Amazing Luxury Jungle Adventure at a Top Rated Belize Resort

16 February 2010 No Comment

My husband and I just returned from an 8 night trip to Belize, of which, 4 nights we spent at Chaa Creek Lodge. We had an amazing experience from start to end! We arrived to the lodge by Shuttle- a one man operation- William Hofman- a really friendly Dutch guy who offers exceptional service and amazing unofficial tour of the country. He picked us up at the airport & dropped us off at our Belize resort. He was so great, that we hired him for the return trip, too.
The resort at chaa creek is beautiful, clean, quiet. A really great way to feel like you can explore the jungle, but come home to a clean room, hot shower, beautiful room.
We paddled up the river to San Ignacio on our first day, which was peaceful and amazing. The second day, we enjoyed a pretty active tour of ATM, which was truly a lifetime experience. Beautiful hike into the cave, lots of incredible history. Be prepared for lots of climbing and activity.
Our final day we spent hikng around the resort followed by a horseback riding tour with Robert- who was incredible. We were beginners, he took us through the trails of the property and provided some good Mayan history lessons, too. You really can’t beat riding a horse through the amazing jungle trails.
We managed to see howler monkeys up near the Belize spa on our last day.
Only incredible things to say about Chaa creek. The food was really good, people were incredibly friendly and the resort and grounds were stunning.
