Belize Vacation Sweepstakes (Essay#68)

2 February 2010 No Comment

For an ADVENTURE! I know going to Chaa Creek in Belize would be an experience of a lifetime, a one of a kind adventure.  To me that means being dropped into a different culture, a different way of life, something outside of the comfort ‘zone’.  That would redefine my own perceptions and understanding of the world around me.  I think seeing a country like Belize, that is just teaming with history from the days of the Mayans, interacting with the Belizean people to better understand their way of life, and the natural raw beauty of the country would really leave an impression surely to last a lifetime.  Who would think you can go to Belize and see history that still stands from over a 2000 years ago.  Really astonishing.

And being able to experience this all from an amazing resort like Chaa Creek would be incredible.  It’s not just the cherry on top, its most of the sundae.  By staying at Chaa Creek, I would have access to exciting guided tours such as Actun Tunichil Muknal, Xunantunich, Tikal, and Cave tubing.  The grounds also look top notch, with plenty of hiking activities, bird watching, and horseback riding.  The night walk tour looks like it would be a great trip as well.  To be able to see the rain forest at night definitely seems worthwhile.  Either staying at the more ‘basic’ Macal River Camp or one of those beautiful suites, both seem very tranquil.  I put ‘basic’ in quotes because I don’t think anything Chaa Creek looks basic.  The grounds look like they are from another world, the food and service also appears top notch.

Belize is definitely a country that should be visited by everyone, so everyone can experience its beauty.  I couldn’t imagine having a better ADVENTURE while being able to do it all from Chaa Creek.
