Belize Eco Kids Summer Camp Essay -4

30 June 2010 No Comment

WHY I WANT TO BE AN ECO KID

I want to be an Eco kid because there isn’t much to do in Corozal this summer. The camp sounds like so much fun. I like to recycle, for example I use both sides of the paper and fill the paper completely with words or drawings so I can help save trees.

I came first in science in my standard three class. I really want to learn more about nature and saving the environment. I like to eat hibiscus blossoms because they have lots of vitamin C. I would like to learn more about plants and their purposes. Animals are my friends. The animals I have made friends with are; stick bugs, hermit crabs, tadpoles, sardines, opossums, Chinese quails, geckos, squirrels, rabbits, horses, chickens, snails, turtles, frogs, and of course my cat named Boots, and my dogs named Beto, Snoopy, and Vanilla. I love animals and plants. Sometimes I find myself shouting out the car window ‘I love you dog’ when I see a stray dog.

When I grow up I want to be a paleontologist. Going on a Mayan ruin excavation this summer sounds like a great time. I can’t wait to start digging!

I love my country, and I want to explore all of it. I have only explored some of Corozal District. Me, my mom and sister went to the manatee rescue centre in Sartaneja Village, and I got to touch a baby manatee. Her skin felt really rough, but it was so cool to touch a baby manatee. We went horseback riding but there were only two horses. One was twenty nine years old and the other one was pregnant, it wasn’t much fun.

Spending a week at eco kids summer camp would be a dream come true.
