Belize is a birders paradise.

Belize is a birders paradise. Over 12 species of parrots call Belize home including various Macaws, Amazons, and a variety of Parakeets. I have been rescuing parrots and other birds and providing education about our avian friends for over 10 years and a trip to the Lodge at Chaa Creek would fulfill a lifelong dream of observing these magnificent sentient creatures in their natural habitat. In addition to parrots, other birds available for viewing at the lodge include many varieties of Toucans, Cormorants, Herons, Flamingos, Hummingbirds, Woodpeckers, Finches, and many more. Nearly 600 species of birds are found in Belize and I can think of no better base to explore their habitat than the ecologically responsible Lodge at Chaa Creek.
Chaa Creek’s 365-acre reserve lies within the rain-forested foothills of the Maya Mountains in the Macal River Valley and offers Birding Expeditions all year round. I would love to explore these expeditions offering an early morning bird watching expedition to Laguna Aquacate, a full-day excursion Full Day Birding excursion to the Mountain Pine Ridge, Birding and Archaeological tours of the ancient Maya temple cities of Caracol and Tikal, a Birding tour of the ancient Maya agricultural centre of El Pilar, and a Birding Canoe Trip on the Macal River. Belize is THE place to see parrots and other birds in the wild, and the Lodge at Chaa Creek is the best place in the world to experience these amazing avian wonders. If I can get to Chaa Creek I will see, hear, smell, touch, and taste the jungle that I have been dreaming of for so long.
After a day watching and photographing birds, I can imagine myself experiencing the spas at Chaa Creek rejuvenating my mind and body and easing the aches of aging muscles. Then I would enjoy a glass of fine wine, and explore the eco-responsible dining selections at their five-star restaurant. And when the evening is over, imagine the walk back to their plush, exquisite, and well-appointed accommodations completely enveloped by nature. What a perfect way to continue relaxing, unwinding, and drifting off to a restful sleep dreaming of the next day waking up at Chaa Creek and setting out for yet another day of birding, adventure, and relaxation.
