So Why Belize?

11 January 2011 No Comment

I would love to win your contest! My husband and I were married in October in New York City. He is English and I am Canadian. We hosted nearly 100 out-of-town guests who stayed for about a week after the wedding. We chose to stay and be with our loved ones (many of whom stayed IN our 2 bedroom apartment) instead of taking a honeymoon. It really was a lovely time.

Because of our work schedules, we have only been together for about 2 weeks of the last 10 weeks.

Because of our work schedules, we have only been together for about 2 weeks of the last 10 weeks.Heck of an introduction to married life. We have been dying to spend time together! For ages, we would compare calendars and list places we would like to go. We couldn’t seem to agree on a destination. Finally we booked our honeymoon to BELIZE. We leave in a week. A little last minute, but it’s been really hard to find time. We can hardly wait for some sun after we separately endured work-cancelling snows in the UK and in New York last month (and another to come tomorrow).

So Why Belize? My husband and I are both well traveled and we sought a place that neither of us has been. Neither of us has ever been to an Eco resort and it sounds inspiring. Belize has three things we both really want: Beach, Nature and Adventure. We’ve decided to break our honeymoon into three parts, one for each of the above. We can hardly wait to hike, dive, relax, read, learn, see, eat and enjoy.

The timing is perfect, you are selecting your contest winner on January 19th and we come to Belize on the 20th!
