Caribbean Vacation Sweepstakes – Win An Adventure in Paradise

If you have a taste for adventure, a yearning for paradise, believe that responsible travel is the way to go and fancy yourself a bit of a wordsmith; the Lodge at Chaa Creek wants to hear from you.

Belize’s premier eco resort is offering an all expense paid, all inclusive Belize adventure vacation package for writers submitting the best 300 word piece about responsible travel, and explaining why they would choose Chaa Creek Belize as their ecotourism destination.

Chaa Creek’s marketing advisor Larry Waight said the purpose of the competition was to generate ideas, thoughts and creative descriptions of responsible travel as a way to promote environmental and socially aware tourism.

“We take responsible travel very seriously at Chaa Creek, but in the spirit of fun, adventure and with an appreciation of luxury and the finer things in life. Feedback from our guests has played a big part in our green development over the years, and we thought this would be a good way to get the word out while rewarding a creative approach to responsible travel,” Mr Waight said.

The Lodge at Chaa Creek, Belize’s first and most highly awarded eco resort, is situated in a 365 acre private nature reserve nestled in pristine rain-forest in The Heartland of the Maya.

Bordered by the Macal River and foothills of the Maya Mountains with miles of jungle trails connecting Maya temple sites, a Natural History Centre, Hilltop Butterfly Farm, Maya Medicinal Plant Trail, Conference Centre, Nature Spa, beautiful thatched cottage accommodations and luxury tree top suits, Chaa Creek has been promoting green, responsible tourism since 1981.

In entering the competition, writers are asked to give free rein to their creativity and may use various forms of expression including prose, poems, songs, stories and fables. Photographic displays and videos, multi media and alternative art forms are also acceptable as entries.

“We’re looking forward to seeing creative stories, travel videos, and photographic displays that illustrate the spirit and practicalities of responsible tourism,” Mr Waight said.

The winner of the Caribbean Vacation Sweepstakes will receive a four night all inclusive Vacation package for two people valued at US$2753.00 that includes:

Round trip transfers from International Airport or Belize City
A visit to the Belize Zoo with transfer on arrival or departure
Four nights luxury cottage accommodation
Full breakfast, lunch and candlelit dinner
Guided visits to the Natural History Museum, Butterfly Farm, & Belize Rainforest Medicinal Trail
Canoeing upstream the Macal River
Guided Early Morning Bird Watching
One full & one half day tour to Belize’s Maya temple sites, sacred caves, or national parks

In addition to the grand prize, there will be three other drawings offering discounts on the all inclusive vacation package:

50% discount for two persons
40% discount for two persons
30% discount for two persons

All submissions must be received by May 14th 2011 to marketing@chaacreek.com. They will then be posted the Belize Travel Blog for contestants to share with friends and family. The winner will be selected by a draw conducted by the Chaa Creek board of directors and chosen by the primary school students of St. Andrews Elementary School. I am a recent Breast Cancer Survivor. I am also very eco-concious and avidly recycle everything possible. Since my surgery in Sept. 2010, I have a new lease on life. I have taken up jogging and feel great! It has been several long years since I had a vacation. Chaa Creek in Belize is my dream vacation! Then it is possible for you to show your local host country people how you respect and blend into their ways. Only until then, will you be considered a neighbor and friend that can be trusted.

my mom and me would love to be able to take this trip together.she helps everyone out,and never thinks about herself.she is a part time caregiver for her daughter that is disablied,her other daughter has a back injury from work,so she babysits her 2 kids,and takes them to the dr. dentist,back and forth to school.church,etc.she will take her elderly parents a meal,or help clean there house,or pick up there perscriptions.her mom has cancer,her dad has parkinsons.if a neighbor needs a ride,or in bad weather she will help snowblow the neighbors sidewalks,and driveways.she will help a homeless person out.if she is down to her last doaller on her.i would love for her to forget about all that she does every day to enjoy a trip.she would be so thrilled.

I haven’t had a vacation since 1995. I had to retire from work on a disabilty and then in 2006 I fell off a ladder and broke the bones in my left leg and foot. I have been at home since then and I will do whatever it takes to take a vacation like this. I feel it would change things with me and my wife and make things better!
I have various medical problems, but this vacation would be like a dream come true!!
