Are you ready to go on-the-air and report today’s tragedies?

13 May 2011 One Comment

SCENE:   The newsroom of a major television station.  Station manager Roger briefs Troy, the on-air news personality.

ROGER:

Are you ready to go on-the-air and report today’s tragedies?

TROY:

Roger, I must tell you, I just came back from Chaa Creek and I would rather report about that!

ROGER:

Where’s Chaa Creek?

TROY:

It’s located in Belize, Central America.  And I want the world to know about this wonderful place.

ROGER:

Why would anyone be interested in Chaa Creek?

TROY:

You mean besides the fact it’s located on a nature preserve stretching towards the Maya Mountains?   Look, as the earth’s natural resources dwindle, we should all be interested in preserving the environment.  And Chaa Creek is committed to conservation.

ROGER:

Tell me about it.

TROY:

Chaa Creek offers tours that run the gamut from exploring a rainforest trail to boarding a helicopter for an airborne adventure. Tourists are taught about Belize’s lovely flora and fauna, and its proud Mayan ancestry.  As a result, a stay in Chaa Creek is refreshing, and worthwhile.

ROGER:

It sounds like you had a great time.

TROY:

I could go on and on about The Great Blue Hole, the Blue Morpho Butterfly Farm and of course, the pristine beaches.

ROGER:

What’s The Great Blue Hole?

TROY:

Brimming with marine life, it is the most incredible dive site in the world.

Belize’s attitude toward the environment should be applauded.   The folks at Chaa Creek are passionate about nurturing the environment “ albeit with a smile, and a chat about local customs.  As a result, Belize remains at the forefront of eco-tourism.  I can’t wait to go back.

ROGER:

Now that sounds like breaking news.

TROY:

You do better Belize it!

ROGER:

Today that’s our lead story.   So get ready you are about to go on the air!
