Belize Photo of the Day: Giant Wild Cockroach
Today’s picture of the day is the Giant wild Cockroach and its scientific name is Blaberus giganteus. The giant wild cockroach is one of the world’s largest cockroaches and it mostly resides in the tropics. It is a nocturnal insect but can occasionally be seen during the day. It can be found in hollow trees sharing the same habitat with bats, opossums, and various arthropods.
Fun fact of the day: What is an arthropod?
An arthropod is an invertebrate animal having an external skeleton, a segmented body, and jointed appendages. Arthropods include insects, arachnids, crustaceans, and others.
