What is it about Belize and celebrity honeymoons?

It’s no longer a secret that Honeymooning in Belize is one of the most romantic and adventuresome ways to begin a life of wedding bliss together, but even at Chaa Creek we’re amazed at what a popular spot our little romantic hideaway of a country has become for celebrities.

Following the laidback honeymoon of Reese Witherspoon and the dramatic, high rating televised proposal by Gene Simmons to Shannon Tweed, we now have much of the world’s attention fixed on Bachelorette star DeAnna Pappas and Steve Stagliano’s honeymoon as it plays out on twitter to a legion of happy fans.

And judging from Steven and DeAnna’s twitters, their love affair extends to Belize itself.

“I’m having coffee with my husband overlooking the ocean feeling so truly blessed!” the new Mrs Stagliano tweeted, following from an earlier comment from her new hubby, which seems to say it all:

“You better Belize it!”

The couple were married in DeAnna’s home state of Georgia on October 22 before heading off to Belize for their honeymoon. As you do.

Since arriving they seem to be deliriously happy. There was some initial concern about Hurricane Rina, but that was quickly followed by the joy of dodging it; “We beat out Rina! It’s gorgeous here today!” The rains seemed to do little to dampen their spirits.

Which is not unusual – people find that the warm, but not too hot climate, fun activities, friendly people and wonderful fresh seafood and tropical fruits make for a great time no matter what the weather is doing.

After spending some quality time at the very upscale Cayo Espanto, near Ambergris Caye, from where DeAnna tweeted, “We just finished our couples massage on our private dock ooohhh lala!”, the couple is moving to another undisclosed  Belizean resort to continue celebrating their love.

So what is it with Belize and romance? The Lodge at Chaa Creek, with their highly praised Belize Wedding packages and all-inclusive Belize Honeymoon vacation packages reckons it has a lot to do with word of mouth.

“Nothing is so important to a couple than a picture-perfect wedding or exotic honeymoon,” Chaa Creek’s wedding and honeymoon coordinator Bryony Fleming-Bradley said, “And when a couple has such an amazing time, they tend to be very enthusiastic about telling their friends and family about it. Lately, it seems that the word is getting out through the celebrity network,” she added.

Ms Fleming-Bradley said that Chaa Creek’s specially crafted romance packages such as the Caribbean Honeymoon Packagewhich allows a couple to spend time exploring nature and stunning Maya temples in the beautiful lush rainforests inland in combination with an exquisite Caribbean beach holiday – create experiences not available anywhere else in the world.

“Where else can you immerse yourselves in a beautiful jungle spa, explore rivers and Maya sites in the morning and then be snorkelling in crystal clear Caribbean waters that afternoon without rushing around or breaking into a sweat. You see these couples just glowing with the biggest smiles on their faces and you know you’re doing something right.

“Of course, they create their own magic – but we certainly help provide the atmosphere to make for something truly memorable,” she said.

And judging from the new Mr and Mrs Stagliano’s tweets, that special Belizean magic continues to delight and enchant couples from all walks of life and from all over the planet. We’ll be looking out for more tweets as the happy couple continue their romantic adventure, but feel Steven’s earlier comment says it all and is worth repeating:

“You better Belize it!”
