Top Places in Belize to take your loved ones this Valentine’s

The natural beauty of Belize combined with its rich cultural heritage make a perfect magnet for Valentine’s lovers! Here are some fun places to explore in Belize this Valentine’s Season:

Placencia Belize

Placencia, Belize, is one of the most laid back, pretty and interesting places in the Caribbean. This friendly little village situated on the tip of a long sandy peninsula in south eastern Belize is an affordable, uncrowded little gem of a tropical paradise.

With sixteen miles of sandy beaches, the impossibly blue Caribbean on one side, a mangrove-fringed lagoon teeming with life on the other, Placencia is indeed a very special place to spend Valentine’s day. And just offshore are myriad cayes, or small islands, dotting Belize’s Barrier Reef, the second largest reef in the world. Uncrowded diving, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking and island exploration trips are less than an hour away, and you’ll also get to meet some of the friendliest people on the planet.

Caye Caulker Belize

Set out in the Caribbean Sea 21 miles northeast of Belize City and protected by the Belize Great Barrier Reef hugging its shores, Caye Caulker is the second largest of the 200 or so small islands, or cayes dotting the coast of Belize.

Caye Caulker’s beaches and the crystal clear, turquoise hued Caribbean lapping at them are picture perfect, uncrowded and inviting to visit this Valentine season. You and your Valentine can spend the day swimming or enjoying absolutely world class snorkelling right from the beach, and there are plenty of opportunities for very affordable scuba diving, fishing, sea kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, reef excursions and anything else involving sun, sea and fun.

Cayo District Belize

As the largest district in Belize, Cayo is home to some 53,000 people and takes in more than 2,000 square miles of tropical rain forest, rolling hills, rich pasture land, vibrant jungle rivers and an amazing assortment of Maya archaeological sites.

You and your Valentine can visit Xunantunich Ceremonial Centre famous for its impressive pyramid temple and views and the royal palace of Cahal Pech, just on the outskirts of San Ignacio, or spent the afternoon up in the higher altitudes of Mountain Pine Ridge and the sprawling remnants of Caracol, an ancient metropolis covering over 55 sq miles in the Chiquibul National Park.

Ambergris Caye Belize

Ambergris Caye is a Belizean paradise that stretches along the amazing Belize Barrier reef all the way to Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula and is famous for fly fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving, and a variety of water sports.

You can also use the island as a base for exploring other Belize islands, and even attractions on the mainland like Altun Ha and the Belize caves.

Ambergris Caye, with its pleasant temperatures, balmy sea  breezes, one of the most relaxed paces on the planet,  and its laid back amenities is well and truly an affordable tropical paradise to explore this Valentine’s season.
