It’s Not Too Late to Enjoy a Summer Vacation in Belize!

Summer has peaked and the days have begun getting shorter, but there’s still plenty of time to discover what so many savvy travellers have – Belize is one of the best summer vacation destinations on the planet, and especially convenient if you’re based in North America.

There have been various posts here listing the many reasons why people think Belize is the perfect summertime holiday destination, and we’ll give a brief recap:

It’s close by

With direct flights to Belize from Miami, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Charlotte, New York and Los Angeles, and with major airlines such as American, Continental, Delta TACA and US Airways servicing the country, getting to Belize has become a snap.

And with the recent announcement of more direct flights from Chicago, Atlanta, LAX and other major hubs, Belize seems to get closer all the time.

It’s affordable

Surprisingly, a Belize summer vacation can be competitive with and often times more affordable than a domestic holiday.   After factoring in the  gas, dining out, admissions to parks, attractions, motels and everything else, people often spend more than they’d budgeted for back home.

By booking an all-inclusive Belize vacation package at Chaa Creek, for example, everything is paid for upfront under one set price, and if you itemise everything that is included, it soon becomes clear that this is a luxury vacation at budget prices. If your time is valuable – and whose isn’t? – by eliminating the need for planning, making bookings and everything else, you could come out quite far ahead.

There’s so much to do

Chaa Creek - Horseback-Riding

Chaa Creek’s all-inclusive Belize vacation packages give guests the run of a 365 acre private nature reserve along the banks of the tranquil Macal River, with miles of well-maintained trails linking lovely thatched cottage rooms, luxury suites and the resort proper to a wide range of attractions and amenities.

In addition to a fine dining restaurant and lounge, infinity pool, professional spa, butterfly farm, educational Natural History Centre, a working Maya organic farm, medicinal plant trail and other amenities, guests can enjoy activities like horseback and mountain bike riding, canoeing, birding, exploring ancient Maya temples and guided day and evening nature walks.

Besides offering many onsite activities, Chaa Creek also organises excursions to the most important ancient Maya archaeological sites as well as the fascinating cities of Caracol and Tikal. Partnership arrangements with some of Belize’s best Caribbean eco resorts allow guests to spend part of their vacation at the Belize Great Barrier Reef, Ambergris Caye, coastal villages with sandy beaches and some of the best diving, snorkelling and fishing in the world.  Again, vacations can be tailored for one set price, and with the new airstrip and regularly scheduled service at nearby Maya Flats you’ll spend your time exploring and enjoying instead of travelling.

Of course, relaxation is an essential part of any summer holiday, and guests are free to do as much or as little as they like, with lounging around the pool, swinging in a hammock, relaxing in a Jacuzzi or just hanging out in the Jungle Lounge and swapping stories with other guests high on many lists.

As a family owned and operated eco resort with plenty of privacy, there is something for everyone, from honeymooners to families. Professional child minding is available, and the large and friendly staff make sure that everyone from toddlers to grandparents can enjoy time together as well as take part in individual activities that interest them.

With consistently lovely warm weather Belize is great year round, but many people prefer the lazier summer months as a way to beat the crowds up north and enjoy the more easy-going pace in this little tropical paradise. If you haven’t discovered this for yourself yet, and are still open to summertime holiday suggestions, check it out. As Billie Holiday sang, “It’s summertime, and the livin’ is easy…”

Come see for yourself – you won’t be singing the blues…
