The Macal River. The birds. The Mayan Temples. This is the vacation we all dream of. I have endured enough in my travels to deserve this kind of wonderful experience.

My perfect Belize vacation

I read an article about the Hummingbird Highway in Belize a year ago and saw pictures of what I thought was the most beautiful tropical paradise yet. After reading more about the country, I knew I had to find a way to get there. My perfect Belize vacation would start when my plane landed in Belize City. The first thing I would do when I landed is to go to a local restaurant to try some rice, beans and stewed chicken. You can learn a lot about a country’s culture by eating their native food, and nothing starts a vacation off right like some good home cooking.

The Race Has Begun..

Sworn to protect the forbidden knowledge, the tribe elders have decided the time has now come for the tribe’s people to reveal their treasure. According to tradition, after centuries of darkness, the stars have fallen into alignment, illuminating a skyward treasure map towards what some have been told is the Sun’s earthly replica, the lost city of gold. Few scientists hold the key to decipher the ancient map. It is crucial that these findings are reported to the scientific world as they hold secrets that can help save the planet in such times of need. Unfortunately there are forces at work that wish to conceal such findings, and use these secrets to increase their own power, keeping the world in darkness and chaos.

I want to go to Belize to learn about the cultures and history

I want to go to Belize so that I can learn about the cultures and history of Belize. I would also like to learn about the wildlife such as bugs, birds, lizards, snakes, and some of the plants used for medicinal purposes. This knowledge could help me later on in life because I would be able to recognize weather something is poisonous and deadly or safe to touch or eat. I would like to explore some of the caves found in Belize and find out how they were formed. I would also like to explore the coral reef and study the water life that lives there. I have been in two science and nature programs.

We would love to get away to Belize and hide away in the warmth of the sunshine

We would love to get away to Belize and hideaway in the warmth of the sunshine and the warmth of the Belize people, see the ocean, and relax. We love the hispanic culture (we are learning spanish as much as our neighborhood is hispanic), hispanic food, and we have heard so much about Belize from our friends who have traveled there often.

A Belize Mystical Experience Needed

I have never been to Central America and it would be a dream for me to visit Belize in order to know more about the local culture and traditions of pre-Columbian societies. Indeed I am currently studying the myths of the 3 Americas and I am particularly interested in the Amazon myth but also in the importance of tobacco as a way to communicate with the Gods.

I dream of going to Belize

A friend of mine had visited Belize in the early seventies and came back raving about it. Belize was a tropical paradise, she told me, with unspoiled beaches, lush forests, Mayan ruins, and an incredible network of caves. The people in Belize were kind and friendly and interested in the visitors who came to see their country. Mexicans, sad to say, tended to be overwhelmed by too many tourists and a bit jaded. But best of all, in Belize they spoke English.

It has been brought to our attention that some contestants are using vote swapping sites to increase the number of votes for their story entry. Since we believe it is unfair to the other contestants who deserve to win fairly, we have decided to change the format of the contest and extend the submission date.

A Greenprint for Responsible Tourism

“[Belize] recognizes that its competitive edge is its cultural and natural heritage…and has in the past 12 months, put into place a sustainable tourism development. That’s a pretty bold step you won’t see in many countries around the world.”

There’s little evidence to visitors that any part of Belize is under threat. The jungles are lush and verdant, alive with macaws, toucans, parrots and howler monkeys. The water is teeming with fish, turtles and sea mammals.

“In many respects,” says Christ, [Belize] stands as a model… It’s not a secret, but a lot of people haven’t yet discovered it.”

The Jewel Called Belize

My travels in the past have never taken me to a world like that of Belize. Lets just say it is a far cry from Door County WI and WI Dells. Well I guess there was Disney and a cruise but lets face it raw nature takes president over a world of fantasy. I have had the opportunity to travel out of country however my husband has not had the travel opportunities that I have had. I would love for him to experience the world outside with new eyes. I would love to escape our world for a truly magical vacation and be able to return home with a fresh take on life. I am ready to be humbled by our world and from what I have heard, the jewel that is Belize. I’m sure this would be a vacation of a life time and the creation of many happy memories for my family. So this is my plea for a remarkable escape…

Why I want to visit Belize?

Belize Zoo was quite exciting reminding me of the movie Jumanji and Disney. Visiting its museum makes me wonder what world history has to offer. Canoeing in Macal River looks very interesting in my active sports lifestyle. Guided visits to the Natural History Museum, Butterfly Farm, and Belize Rainforest Medicinal Trail was quite challenging. Guided Early Morning Bird Watching was quite exciting. Tour to Belize’s Mayatemple sites, sacred caves, or nature reserves makes me wonder what a wonderful world to explore. And Snorkeling tour to Belize’s magnificent barrier reef off South Water Caye makes me thanks God for my wonderful dream to be true creation.

Belize is among the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

I thought about her and I, staying the luxurious eco-tourism resort she had found for us, Chaa Creek, it was called. There, we would live together, eat together, and experience our own tiny adventure together. Nothing had me more excited than the possibility of seeing real honest-to-goodness Maya ruins. When we were kids, my sister and I would play computer games that taught us about the ancient world of the Maya. Since then, their intricate civilization has fascinated me.

I am in love with Belize and Its Beauty!

My days are filled with learning about the fall and disappearance of the Maya, a great civilization that had magnificent knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and calendries. Fascinating, that we are allowed to scroll through the ruins.
Nothing brings me more happiness and peace than blue, clear water–not too populated, warm tropical weather and breath taking beaches. I am in my element when I am snorkeling. In Belize their are atolls and beautiful coral reefs.

So Where Did They Go?

Jeff claims that I like to worry about stupid stuff because it distracts me from worrying about serious stuff. Maybe, he’s right. As evidence, take my life-long angst about Virginia Dare, the first European child born in the New World who vanished, along with 116 colonists without a trace. Ever since my parents took me to see, “The Lost Colony”, now playing in its 69th season on Roanoke Island in North Carolina, I have been worried about those folks.

Was it a Dream?

The costumes were amazing. Men with jaguar skins and masks, their sweat glistening in the firelight as they twirled and danced, to the rhythmic drumming. Necklets of amber and jade, beautiful feather headdresses, animal masks all swirling, gyrating and generating a heady mixture of sensuality, fear and historic significance.

Please send my husband and I to Belize!

I’d snorkel, savor local foods, relax at an Eco Spa, visit ancient Mayan ruins, and hopefully find some wonderful crafts to share with loved ones back home. I am sure I’d take more pictures than anyone would care to see, and talk for years about my wonderful experience! I’d Facebook, Twitter, and blog about my Belize Adventure. I’d shout from the rooftops that Chaa Creek Rocks!
