And in a country where we have no end of suitable material just laying around,” he said.

As a kid I would want to help save our environment but I can’t do it alone. It takes more than one person but it starts with me. I will be eco friendly to help save the planet and so I could live in a greener and safer world. Eco friendly is not doing anything to hurt yourself or the world you live in. A family that goes green together stays together.

I enjoy learning about animals and plants. By learning about nature, I will be able to encourage my friends to do the same and appreciate nature for what it is. By doing that, they will recycle, and see nature how I see it as a wonderful place where there are things still to be discovered. They will want to protect it too. This is why I want to be an eco kid.

I always wanted to visit Chaa Creek and be a part of its prestigious history. I hope I get a chance to ride a horse, it is one of my favorite fantasies. This year is the “New Beginning” for the Maya. I love to climb Maya temples and see the jungle from a new dimension. Imagine if I found an Ancient Maya spear head, clay pot or jade artifact? There is so little that is known about the Ancient Maya it would be amazing to find cool stuff to show the world and tell their story.

I would like to be an Eco kid and be able to go to the Eco Kids Camp because this camp looks as much fun as when I went to Cub Scout Camp at Camp Oakley. Being a cub scout I get to do a lot of activities outside at our meetings. As cubs scouts we look after nature and learn to take care of it by doing garbage cleanup and planting trees around our community. We also have fun with other scouts by playing games and learning to share with them.

The nuclear power station at Chernobyl in the Ukraine for example, exploded in 1986 releasing large amounts of toxic and radioactive materials into the air. Swedish scientists detected this dangerous pollution in the air since it was brought by the wind from Ukraine which is many kilometers away. Soil, water and air became devastated with this radioactive material and many crops and animals in several countries had to be destroyed because they were too dangerous to eat. Thousands of people had to be moved from their homes because the environment around the power station was no longer safe to live.
