Belize is a small and eclectic country that is bordered by Mexico to the north, south and west by Guatemala, and east by the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Ethnically diverse and culturally rich; Belize has many things to offer visitors from its varied ecology to its historical pre-Columbian Maya temple cities. The Lodge at Chaa Creek in the Cayo District of Belize has some pretty awesome horse stables. We went riding with them on a guided trail ride tour with an awesome guide who showed us everything from local wildlife to trees and fruit. We rode to an unexcavated Maya site on top of a hill overlooking the beautiful rainforest sourrounding Chaa Creek.
I have never been to Central America and it would be a dream for me to visit Belize in order to know more about the local culture and traditions of pre-Columbian societies. Indeed I am currently studying the myths of the 3 Americas and I am particularly interested in the Amazon myth but also in the importance of tobacco as a way to communicate with the Gods.
