I have been wanting to write this letter for a long time. We stayed at Chaa Creek from March 1 to March 6, 2013, so I apologize for taking so long. Our stay was not only the highlight of our trip to Belize but one of our most memorable stays anywhere!

On a scale of one to five, we give Chaa Creek a six

For us, one thing really stood out at Chaa Creek: The owners of this dazzlingly attractive resort have mastered the art of drawing out the best in people, wonderfully evidenced by the attitude seen in their staff – all drawn from the local population – some of whom have worked at Chaa Creek for over 28 years. Every employee we engaged with went out of their way to be friendly, positive, helpful, and knowledgeable.

If you are going to Belize then your experience will not be complete unless you spend some time in the jungle. Chaa Creek is the best of the best when it comes to resorts in the Cayo district. The tree house cabana in which we stayed was fabulous. It was very roomy, clean, had a spectacular deck that included a hot tub and overlooked the Macal river. We happened to be there during a winter cold …

We recently spent four nights at Chaa Creek, and we were not disappointed. We wanted to explore the jungle, check out the wildlife, but be pampered at the same time. If this is what you’re looking for, Chaa Creek will not disappoint.
The Belize resort itself has many things to offer, from birdwatching trips at the crack of dawn (which were fascinating, even if you’re not a bird-lover) to horsebackriding tours through the property, and up …

perfect get-a-way-history,culture,wildlife, and a gorgeous setting

From the moment we were met at the airport by Darren, everything about our stay at Chaa Creek was perfect. Our casita was wonderfully designed, with an emphasis on privacy and natural beauty. The dining room was open, yet cozy and every member of the staff was attentive.

REVIEW FROM JULY 2003 STAY:
I’m posting this after the fact but there aren’t many reviews and we think very highly of this place. Macal River Jungle Camp is a subsidiary of Chaa Creek, located a mile or so away on the Macal River. The setting is gorgeous and very “jungly” – we saw iguanas, tarantulas, motmots, toucans, aracaris, and parrots from our hammocks. The tent-cabins are sweet, spread out around a clearing in the jungle …

I just came back from Belize. I chose to spend the first half of my trip in the jungle and the 2nd half on the coast at Placencia. The stay at Chaa Creek was more memorable. The lodgings were incredibly comfortable. Large king size bed, 2 sink vanity and 2 shower head shower room. An outdoor shower with a veranda for 2 hammocks. The attitude of the staff was great. We visited 2 Maya sites, …

Great Family Resort!

We had a wonderful time at Chaa Creek. Although elegant and sophisticated, it is very family friendly and relaxed. Children stay in your room for free and their meals are half price which makes it reasonable. The rooms and grounds are immaculate and the pool is the prettiest I have ever seen. I tend to be “community pool” phobic but couldn’t wait to dive into this one each day. We couldn’t believe a jungle lodge could be so spotless, not …

My husband & I spent a week at Chaa Creek and can’t wait to return. It is worth the two hour drive into the interior of the country!
The staff is so pleasant and customer-service oriented. We were greeted at the airport by the driver that we arranged through the resort. He was helpful and informative on the drive to the resort. Upon arrival, our bags were taken to our room as we checked in. The front desk clerk personally showed …

I stayed at the Macal River Camp and it’s a fantastic deal – there is no electricity in the cabins, but the staff light oil lamps at night for you and there is electricity in the shared bathrooms/showers (which also have hot water!) All hotel amenities are available, there are lots of activities, the spa is incredible. The staff is extremely helpful and accomodating and it’s really cool to hear all the jungle sounds at night!
