“To be great, a company must add some sort of positive benefit in the world with its products. Similarly, a company that fails to pay its employees a living wage, or to treat them with care and respect, can never be considered great.

Perfection In The Jungle

My wife, nephew and his best friend stayed for 4 nights at Chaa Creek. I had stayed there 22 years ago, and there have been some improvements (spa, pool) but I am happy to say the flavor of the hotel has remained the same. It’s a great place to bird watch, glide down a lazy river that’s a 5 minute walk from our room, see a small but excellent museum, and observe morpho butterflys at …

Amazing Luxury Jungle Adventure at a Top Rated Belize Resort

Our final day we spent hikng around the resort followed by a horseback riding tour with Robert- who was incredible. We were beginners, he took us through the trails of the property and provided some good Mayan history lessons, too. You really can’t beat riding a horse through the amazing jungle trails.

Cannot say enough great things about our recent 4-night stay at Chaa Creek. From the moment we arrived, we felt the comfort and peacefulness the place had to offer. The staff immediately explained what was included in our package, gave us a little tour and showed us to our beautiful room. No keys – just hammocks issued (in-room safes though). The place is so beautiful, set in the jungle with hardwoods used throughout. Everything open air and there is a …

This is a belated review, but last March, we spent several days at Chaa Creek and had a wonderful time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Well-maintained and immaculate. We were astonished by how luxurious it was, while at the same time, feeling that you were far, far away from it all. The combination of luxury and a feeling of isolation (though in reality, you aren’t that far away from San Ignacio).
We had the Garden Jacuzzi room, …

We recently spent four nights at Chaa Creek, and we were not disappointed. We wanted to explore the jungle, check out the wildlife, but be pampered at the same time. If this is what you’re looking for, Chaa Creek will not disappoint.
The Belize resort itself has many things to offer, from birdwatching trips at the crack of dawn (which were fascinating, even if you’re not a bird-lover) to horsebackriding tours through the property, and up …

A Trip Report on Belize, Central America

My husband, 21 year old son and 17 year old daughter just came back from Belize. Despite the weather we had a fabulous time. A few observations first: We were all impressed at how nice and smart the Belizian’s were and while we had overcast -damp weather and no sun every day, it never interfered with our excursions- thankfully. So here is our daily itinerary:
Day 1-
We flew direct on Continental from Newark, NJ to Belize …

perfect get-a-way-history,culture,wildlife, and a gorgeous setting

From the moment we were met at the airport by Darren, everything about our stay at Chaa Creek was perfect. Our casita was wonderfully designed, with an emphasis on privacy and natural beauty. The dining room was open, yet cozy and every member of the staff was attentive.

REVIEW FROM JULY 2003 STAY:
I’m posting this after the fact but there aren’t many reviews and we think very highly of this place. Macal River Jungle Camp is a subsidiary of Chaa Creek, located a mile or so away on the Macal River. The setting is gorgeous and very “jungly” – we saw iguanas, tarantulas, motmots, toucans, aracaris, and parrots from our hammocks. The tent-cabins are sweet, spread out around a clearing in the jungle …

I just came back from Belize. I chose to spend the first half of my trip in the jungle and the 2nd half on the coast at Placencia. The stay at Chaa Creek was more memorable. The lodgings were incredibly comfortable. Large king size bed, 2 sink vanity and 2 shower head shower room. An outdoor shower with a veranda for 2 hammocks. The attitude of the staff was great. We visited 2 Maya sites, …

We loved staying here for our Belize honeymoon

This is a beautiful eco-lodge where you will feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest. We stayed in the cottage room and it was beautiful! The room and bathroom are very spacious and beautifully decorated. We also enjoyed cocktails and dinners on our private balcony. It was like having a jungle symphony every night. We could hear howler monkeys, birds and cicada bugs (which sound like loud crickets). The food in the restaurant is amazing.

I was a recent guest at Chaa Creek and was amazed by the beauty of the property, accomodations and most importantly the staff! The property definitely rates as one of the best not only in Belize, but in all of Central America!
We were greeted by the front desk and offered 2 beautiful rooms (the one had a romantic outdoor shower) and chose a location that looked out on the river and was extremely private. The decor of the room was …

Spent 6 nights in Chaa Creek at the beginning of May….and loved it! We had four nights in the Spa villa and 2 nights in a Treetop Suite, with the rest of our party staying in Orchard Villa. As a large party (11 people), we were treated amazingly by the staff at Chaa Creek. They were always courteous and made sure that we were enjoying ourselves! When one of the party was ill, one of the staff went out of …

“Chaa Creek was excellent to say the least. The staff was great as was nearly everything else there.”
“My new husband and I spent the first four nights of our honeymoon at Chaa Creek and loved every minute of it.”
“We stayed here for few nights when travelling around Central America and can’t wait to come back here again. The staff here are all extremely helpful, they even dried our trainers for us after we’d been out caving. The hotel is set …

We just got back from a 4 Night Trip to Chaa Creek (4/5 to 4/9) with our two children (ages 10 and 11) and absolutely loved the vacation. If you want an adventure vacation with a luxury and service then this place is it. This is our second time to Belize and the first trip was on a cruise.
Upon entering the property we were treated very warmly and had our bags wisked away to our room. We had Tree Top …

I stayed at the Macal River Camp and it’s a fantastic deal – there is no electricity in the cabins, but the staff light oil lamps at night for you and there is electricity in the shared bathrooms/showers (which also have hot water!) All hotel amenities are available, there are lots of activities, the spa is incredible. The staff is extremely helpful and accomodating and it’s really cool to hear all the jungle sounds at night!

Belize: Just the spot for an idler Indiana Jones

By Charles Nevin
What, exactly, are your requirements for a jungle holiday? Just a machete, a dugout, a couple of reliable bearers and a packet of Lucky Strikes for applying the business ends to leeches? Or do you want something a little, well, less of a jungle out there?
My thoughts on this were clarified as I was paddling my canoe along the Macal River. I was admiring the deep surrounding greenery and my increasingly assured bladework, until the guide confided that …
