The cottages are very clean and comfortable, mine had an outside shower. The cottages are similar in style to the luxury private game reserves surrounding Kruger National Park, in South Africa. Everything is open air concept, no air conditioning ….but really it is not necessary with the high altitude. There were two ceiling fans and a floor fan in my cottage but I did not turn them on. The restaurant is lovely and the service and food was great.

We came to Belize with our 3 kids, 7, 10 and 12 to get off the beaten path. We had no plans or reservations and wanted to go with what grabbed us. Normally we try to avoid places like this but in Belize they are the norm. We decided to try Lodge at Chaa Creek based on the reviews. We arrived unannounced in the pouring rain and were treated as if they had spent all day waiting for us.

My husband and I spent our wedding anniversary in a tree house room at Chaa Creek complete with a jacuzzi tub on the veranda. No need for tvs or cell phones – just listening to the wild life and the river was wonderful. This Belize resort was fabulous. Lots of activities to choose from, great food, excellent spa and attentive staff. We have both travelled extensively around the world and stayed at some incredible places. …

The Lodge at Chaa Creek was a delightful surprise – impeccable service, charming rooms, gracious hosts, insightful guides for our day trips and, some of the absolute best food we’ve had anywhere – all set in the beautiful and culturally-rich Cayo region of Belize. If you want to relax and get away from it all, but still have 5-star quality service, The Lodge at Chaa Creek is for you. We felt like we were leaving family when our time at …

My aunt and I stayed at Chaa Creek for 3 days in March 2010 as part of a package arranged by Worldwide Ecotours and my local travel agent. Our every need was looked after – the Lodge arranged return shuttle transfers from the airport, tours of Actun Tunichil Muknal and Caracol with expert guides, and made sure that we could both get into the spa at the same time for some much-needed massages. The service at …

My husband, another couple and I came inland to Chaa Creek during our 11-day stay in Belize. We started and ended in Caye Caulker, had planned on staying inland at Chaa Creek only 2 nights and, after being at Chaa Creek for about 2 minutes, decided to extend our stay an extra night. We stayed at the Camp Casitas, which is probably the best value for your money in Belize – if you understand ahead of time that you (as …

Our final day we spent hikng around the resort followed by a horseback riding tour with Robert- who was incredible. We were beginners, he took us through the trails of the property and provided some good Mayan history lessons, too. You really can’t beat riding a horse through the amazing jungle trails.

If you are going to Belize then your experience will not be complete unless you spend some time in the jungle. Chaa Creek is the best of the best when it comes to resorts in the Cayo district. The tree house cabana in which we stayed was fabulous. It was very roomy, clean, had a spectacular deck that included a hot tub and overlooked the Macal river. We happened to be there during a winter cold …

The Belize Resort: other than the rocky road in, Chaa Creek’s location is incredible. Set in the mountains, you are surrounded by well-kept grounds, jungle, and wildlife. Iguanas, howler monkeys, and birds of all kinds roam the grounds and woods. They offer 365 acres of well marked trails that can be guided or explored on your own. They also have a bike shop (guided or unguided) and canoes to take into town or just leisurely paddle down the river. Breakfast and …

beautifully designed accomodations, great staff and lots of activities plus a new pool make for a great lodge. the rooms are large, decorated with handicrafts, have huge bathrooms and set far enough apart to give privacy. The staff was friendly, well-trained and knowledgeable. The food is ‘continental’ and only ok with leisurely service (a bit too much so for tired kids). There are lots of activities on the lodge property: bird watching, nature museum, horseback riding, canoeing as well as …

We just spent 3 nights at Chaa Creek. What an amazing place! Two couples shared the complete Jacuzzi/Garden Suite. The cottage is a huge palapa, divided into 2 private suites. The rooms and the bathrooms are large and furnished very attractively with rustic Indonesian style furniture. Each suite has it’s own patio, complete with hammocks.
The restaurant and bar are just amazing. They’re indoor/outdoor with torches and candles burning at night. We thought the food was very good, well prepared and …

The casita’s (cottages) offer the unique experience of sleeping under a tatched roof will all the comforts of home. Every morning you a wake to sounds of the jungle – WOW. This is the most fabulous little “resort”. The property has lots of amenities including a pool, horse back riding, lots of hiking trails, canoes…and even a small nature center. We have two thrill seeking teenagers who were very pleased with the daily excursions arranged by the resort. The ATM cave trip was the best, a 45 minute hike to the mouth of the cave followed by a three hour round trip swim/hike into Mayan history. The one day trip to …
