We had previously shared a blog post and video featuring My Back Yaad visiting Chaa Creek when shooting video footage for their Destination Cayo episode. SUNDAY July 24, 2011 – The morning wakeup call was at 6:30AM but with all the excitement, the eco kids were already up from before 6AM. The theme of the day was Biodiversity and Conservation which meant that a lot of hiking and exploring would be involved in today’s itinerary.

Mick Fleming, organic farmer from Chaa Creek Lodge, supports sustainable agriculture in Belize

Mick Fleming, organic farmer and naturalist, talks with a school teacher and a Nun from Belize City about helping them start an organic garden to grow food on a plot of land behind their school. The students had come to Chaa Creek Lodge for a tour of Chaa Creek’s Maya Organic farm and orchards, Natural History Center and the Lodge’s Blue Morpho Butterfly Farm.
