Belize Vacation Sweepstakes: Why your family has chosen Belize and The Lodge at Chaa Creek as your best family vacation destination
We are a family of nature lovers. Father is an avid birder and naturalist who raised us two children to respect and wonder at, the natural world. Mother is a self-taught botanist who especially appreciates wild flowers. Growing up, family vacations involved a lot of car trips to go camping, canoeing, hiking, swimming and fishing. Along the way to our destinations, Mom and Dad would point out the flora and fauna. As young kids we did not always appreciate these “lessons”, often being more concerned about the destination, than the journey. Now that my brother and I are adults, we share our parents’ value for all things natural, and we join them with our binoculars.
Our family has never been on a vacation outside the northwest region of Canada and the United States. We’ve never been on an airplane together, and we’ve never stayed in a lodge. As my parents have entered their seventh decade of life, it feels more important than ever to experience what The Lodge at Chaa Creek has to offer, and to create the kind of awesome memories we would enjoy recalling over and over again in the years to come.
From bird watching to canoeing; from horseback riding to mountain biking; from delicious meals to spa treatments; and from Mayan archeological sites to the rainforest medicine trail just to name a few of the incredible experiences available att The Lodge at Chaa Creek, we would enjoy them all! Dad would make the early morning bird walks his daily priority. Mom would want to learn about Mayan traditional medicine and visit the butterfly farm. A priority tour for my brother and I would be Actun Tunichil Muknal, which sounds like a trip back in time and an adventure not to miss! My family cannot imagine a better vacation!
