Chaa Creek- I had the pleasure of staying at Chaa Creek it is an amazing place …..located in the middle of the rainforest. No city sounds, no TV, no loud music blaring at the bar or restaurant….just the sounds of nature…. You wake to the sounds of bird’s singing and fall asleep to the sounds of frogs peeping.
The cottages are very clean and comfortable, mine had an outside shower. The cottages are similar in style to the luxury private game reserves surrounding Kruger National Park, in South Africa. Everything is open air concept, no air conditioning ….but really it is not necessary with the high altitude. There were two ceiling fans and a floor fan in my cottage but I did not turn them on. The restaurant is lovely and the service and food was great.
We took the morning medicine trail walk to learn about the many trees and plants that provide the ingredients for medicines. We also hiked up to Chaa Creek’s tented camp it is a bit more basic than the main lodge but a great value for anyone traveling on a tight budget.
I would highly recommend Chaa Creek to anyone looking to experience a serene, luxury lodge in a picture book setting.
