Mother Nature and Belize

Hi my name is Vivianne Loyola Gongora. I am 12 years old. I live in Burrell boom. I am in Standard 5 at St. Joseph R.C. School.  I love to play with my pet cats and dogs. The real reason I am writing this to you is because I want to be an eco kid. I believe all the plants, trees and flowers should be respected just like people. I love them all because they give us oxygen and make the place more pretty. Not only are they pretty but they are also used for medicine.  I even use some from time to time in my yard.  My mom is a tour guide and have always taught me to be respectful of all God have blessed us with.

My mom has instilled a lot of value in myself and my little sisters to appreciate what we have around us.  Now I don’t just look at a bird as a bird but I wonder what do they eat? Where do they sleep? What is there life like?  It makes me feel closer to nature in a sense.   With everything my mom has taught me it has helped me to go out and search on my own to find out the answers to my questions.  She shows me which books I can use to build my knowledge.

We do a lot of Bird watching, Canoeing, Swimming and even just a road trip to see somewhere new in Belize.  She has opened up my curiosity to want to learn more about Mother Nature and Belize.   I respect the land so much now thanks to my mom. I would like to be given the chance to show you how much I love nature and also to learn more.  I always love sharing what I’ve learnt with my friends and Family.  I thank you for giving me a chance!
