Belizean children learn ‘eco lessons’

The words biodiversity, conservation and Traditional Healing are not normally in the vocabulary of pre-teen and even teenagers these days.  But for one group of young people, the idea of trading in computer games, television and even Facebook to learn lessons from the jungle is a reality that is being lived out in western Belize. It is the Eco Challenge 2011. And earlier this week, Love TV’s producer Dalila Ical and cameraman Brian Castillo paid a surprise visit with the campers and found that learning has never been more fun.

The Eco Challenge program aims to instill memorable values that will have an impact on the way children conduct their lives, their relationship with our fragile Earth, and the sustainable development of our future.
