The above drawing was done by Miguel Cano our computer programmer. By accident we discovered his hidden talent when he shared this piece with us. To add to our surprise, he added that it was all done digitally. Below he explains.
As I was working on the new web portal for guests, I was trying to use images that could go beyond simple photos.
Besides programming I have always loved to paint, especially oil paintings. In the last years I have now mastered digital drawing – I’m hooked.
Everyone can do digital drawings, follow my instructions and it might also become your best new hobby.
Use a program called Corel painter where you can start with a digital photo. You “clone” it and use it as the canvas. Then you start using brushes or pencils or whatever other tools you prefer. When painting on the canvas, you will get the original color of that specific part of the photo but with the texture of the selected brush. Just explore and see where your creativity takes you.
This is very good for individuals that are not very good in drawing freehand. It is really fun and you can get interesting results.
