The Lodge at Chaa Creek’s recent announcement of honeymoon vacation discounts is adding to the growing interest in Belizean honeymoon holidays, according to the eco resort’s spa manager.
Bryony Fleming, who also acts as Chaa Creek’s romance travel specialist, said social media, celebrity romance and the 2012-fuelled interest in Maya culture are contributing to growing interest in exotic honeymoon vacation packages.
“Travel agents and wedding planners have been reporting that destination weddings have been the hottest new trends for a while, and now we’re seeing a rise in another interesting aspect of romance travel – exotic honeymoons,’ Ms Fleming said.
Ms Fleming called social media recommendations “Good old fashioned word of mouth, but in the global online community.
“People tell us that they hear about people having these exotic honeymoons on Facebook, following tweets, seeing pictures on Instagram and other social media platforms, and it piques their interest. And when they query honeymoons on search engines, they’re surprised at what our Belizean honeymoon vacation packages at Chaa Creek offer, and how they translate into a really affordable exotic honeymoon.
“We decided to respond to this trend by offering a 10% discount on our already affordable all-inclusive Belize honeymoon vacation packages this spring and summer. It puts a truly special time together within reach of more couples,” she said.
Ms Fleming said the 10% discounts are offered for couples booking packages between 22 April and 30 July 2012.
“That a very significant savings when you consider that our Belize honeymoon packages are all-inclusive and that 10% means 10% off everything, from beautiful thatched cottage accommodation, all meals, transfers and the range of activities we offer. It makes an once-in-a-lifetime beautiful rainforest honeymoon as affordable as some more mundane celebrations,” she said.
The Lodge at Chaa Creek is Belize’s first luxury eco resort and is situated with a private 365 acre nature reserve in a pristine Belizean rainforest. Miles of well-maintained trails link numerous ancient Maya sites and the Maya temple of Tunichilen as well as a professional Hilltop Spa, the Butterfly Farm, Natural History Centre, fine dining restaurant, jungle lounge, pool and other amenities.
Ms Fleming said that today’s honeymooners are increasingly enjoying hiking, horseback and mountain bike riding, canoeing down the unspoiled Macal River, visiting ancient Maya sites, swimming and other outdoor activities as well as more traditional honeymoon pampering such as couples’ massages, candlelit dinners, lounging in a private Jacuzzi and other romantic pastimes.
“It’s great to see more and more couples sharing an adventure while they celebrate their love together. It’s a very healthy trend and I like to think we’re encouraging it at Chaa Creek with our unique take on Belize honeymoon packages and now with these discounts,” she said.
