Amid a growing trend towards adventurous honeymoons, the tiny Caribbean nation of Belize is benefiting from a record number of couples celebrating their nuptials in paradise, according the Lodge at Chaa Creek’s wedding and honeymoon planner.
Denise Duran said her job description did not even exist a few years ago, but the increase in the number of couples “looking for that extra something ” called for a more focussed approach to what she calls adventure romance travel in exotic locations such as Belize.
And, with all-inclusive honeymoon vacation packages putting the cost of an overseas honeymoon in reach of more people, exotic honeymoons are becoming an increasingly affordable alternative to the more everyday celebrations, she said.
“Honeymoons have always been important, but we’re seeing a definite trend towards couples wanting to do something different, to share a more exotic and at the same time luxurious experience. Think The Great Gatsby in the bush. It seems like more couples are looking to start their lives together by doing something extraordinary.
“And now there are these affordable all-inclusive honeymoon vacations that really drive the costs way down. I’ve had several people tell me there’s no way they could afford to do something this luxurious in their own countries, so that’s another big plus,” she said.
Ms Duran explained that with Chaa Creek’s all-inclusive Belize Honeymoon vacation packages, everything from the moment the guests are picked up at Belize’s international airport is included in one set price, cutting out many incidental expenses and wasted time.
“The last things a couple wants to think about is how much they’re spending or what to next. Missing a connection or being hit with extra charges can cause stress and really detract from what should be a carefree, wonderful time together.
“With our all-inclusive honeymoon holidays, all transfers, luxurious accommodation and exquisite meals are all included along with all activities and access to Chaa Creek’s 365 acre private rainforest nature reserve. There are miles of beautiful, secure jungle trails perfect for walks and horseback or mountain bike rides as well as the butterfly farm, Natural History Centre, infinity pool, fine dining restaurant, the well-stocked Jungle Lounge and an enormous amount of activities such as canoeing and guided nature walks.
“Honeymooners will be especially interested in amenities such as our beautiful Hilltop Spa with professional couple’s massages and relaxing treatments or the gorgeous tropical gardens surrounding their private verandas and Jacuzzi suites. There’s nothing like sipping champagne while listening to the monkeys and toucans, watching the fireflies light up the trees at night and gazing up at stars in skies far away from city lights to create the ideal honeymoon atmosphere,” she said.
Ms Duran said that she is happy to work with couples to ensure that their honeymoon caters to their own interests and desires.
“In addition to being all-inclusive, we understand that a honeymoon package should be flexible and really reflect what each couple wants. We understand how important this is, and we work hard to make sure we get it right and deliver a honeymoon in paradise that will be unforgettable.
“I love my job because time and again I see it result in true happiness, and that’s very satisfying,” Ms Duran said.
