This year, the Lodge at Chaa Creek proudly celebrated fifteen exceptional Belizean students who have been awarded scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic year through the Chaa Creek Cares program. The scholarship recipients (Ashley Vasquez, Dorian Pech, Elvin De La Rosa, Pricela Mai, Liandra Benjamin, Kathleen Vasquez, Anthony Ayala, Ken Vasquez, Byron Can, Kyri Hob, Katherine Hob, Germy Ku, Edward Requena, Bella Canto, and Jadel Tzib) while there journey is a golden start they will represent the bright future of Belize across high school, sixth form, and university levels. Their achievements reflect hard work and dedication, as well as the power of community support and the belief that yes, it can be done, and yes, opportunities are available.
By investing in these young minds, Chaa Creek Cares continues its mission of supporting education in Belize, ensuring that dreams are nurtured and futures are built on a strong foundation. After all, a country showered with the brightest educational minds is a country that can stand tall.
A day to remember at Chaa Creek
The scholarship celebration was as memorable as it was inspiring. The students were treated to an immersive tour of the Belize rainforest lodge, beginning with a journey through the Maya Farm, where they learned about sustainable farming practices. They explored the fascinating Natural History Center and the colorful Butterfly Farm, followed by a peek inside the spa and beautifully appointed rooms.
The adventure continued with a visit to the Belize Rainforest Retreat and the breathtaking Lookout, reached via exciting RTV rides. During a delicious lunch with Mrs. Lucy Fleming, the students listened to heartfelt testimonials from dedicated Chaa Creek employees, many of whom started their own journeys as local youth inspired by the lodge’s mission.
For these young scholars, this is no ordinary textbook material; it’s a glimpse of what life can be beside just pictures and letters from a book, a reminder that learning can be fun, vibrant, and deeply connected to the world around us, after all, with over 300 birds species its just the type of therapy to start off the school year.
