The annual Eco-Kids Summer Camp 2015 Kicks Off!
The fifth annual Eco Kids Summer Educational Adventure Camp is now under way in the lush jungles of Belize at The Lodge at Chaa Creek.
This event gives 24 young Belizeans between the ages of 8 and 13 a chance to learn about their natural world through a mix of adventure, social interaction, and fun filled applied education – all aimed at instilling a sense of wonderment in the unique cultures that constitute Belize and the environment that sustains us all.
Yesterday July 19, 2015 camp organizer Lea Itzab together with camp counselors, Lily Jones, Sam Euler, and Sofía Paz headed to pick up the 24 young stewards of the environment in Belize City, Belmopan and San Ignacio respectively.
Some of the kids were a bit shy while others over excited as they came onboard the Chaa Creek bus. Not withstanding, others immediately made friends and shared their enthusiasm of what they anticipated the camp to be.
We want to thank the parents for the trust placed in us and allowing us to take care of their kids for what is to be a fun-filled week that will be engrained in their kids’ hearts & minds for a lifetime.
Stay tuned as we bring you coverage of the daily activities.
