High End Hotels In San Pedro Belize:
Las Terrazas
Las Terrazas – with their modern villas and chic feel will probably convince you to move your entire life to Belize. Situated on the northern side of the island Las Terrazas is a fun loving paradise fit for all travelers from the go slow to the pedal to the metal types. For those of you who like watersports and exotic cuisine; Las Terrazas offers their guests, complimentary use of paddle boards, kayaks, water bikes and for those of you who want to go for a quick sail you may even use their Hobie cats on your stay. Victoria House
Traveling south of San Pedro on Ambergris caye will inevitably cross you along the path of one of the dreamiest resorts on this list. Victoria House looks much how you’d imagine it to look upon first hearing the name. In a world filled with Mayan-themed restaurants, hotels, and even houses one would forget that Belize was ever once a colony of the crown. Victoria House is reminiscent of the plantation style estates of the 1800’s that we sometimes see on television today. The Antebellum Architecture manner of construction gives one the illusion of stepping back in time and into utter elegance. This essence of aristocracy follows you into their Palmetto restaurant where they serve only the finest Caribbean flavors and treats. Honeymooners rejoice because this beachfront property is a picture perfect setting for all your romantic dreams to come true. If you’re not honeymooning this could totally be the place to make sure you will be not too long in the future – if you get where we’re going with this. Victoria House has also recently opened their very own spa adding themselves to the wellness category and really rounding out the relaxation options on their property. If you’re envisioning immaculate white sand beaches and equally impressive accommodations then you’re heading in the right direction.

Matachica
Stepping over into a bit of the wilder side of San Pedro hotels we have Matachica Resort and Spa. Matachia exudes a rustic charm that is nigh uncommon that gives the impression of perhaps being on a semi-deserted island in the middle of the sea. Set on the eastern coast of the island this property is home to some astonishing morning and evening views of the barrier reef that runs along the perimeter not but a couple miles away. Matachica is elegantly decorated with artwork collected from different corners of the world and with the spacious setting between villas, even at full capacity you’d never feel like you’re crowded in. Their Award winning Mambo restaurant offers up some of the best tropical eats in their neighbourhood in creative preparations you won’t soon forget. Then, after all of your fun exploring and dining catch a moment to relax at their spa – or sweat off some calories at their on-property gym; an amenity not found in many resorts around Belize.
El Secreto [NOTE: Closed]
Located 11 miles north of San Pedro Town and reachable only by boat, El Secreto is a fairly new addition to the high-end hotels on San Pedro, Belize. It makes for a lavishly romantic and luxuriously barefoot boutique experience, combining modern amenities such as state of the art LED lighting, iPod docking stations, Malin & Goetz amenities, among others. El Secreto hosts 13 exclusive individual thatched roof villas, with some of their villas sporting their own private outdoor Jacuzzi and shower patio. If you are thinking along the lines of a truly memorable honeymoon or destination wedding, El Secreto should definitely be a contender in your books if you’re looking for San Pedro Belize Hotels.
[UPDATE: El Secreto is closed as of this writing May 31s, 2019]
Xanadu
Xanadu Resort is one of a handful of green globe certified eco-resorts here and one of the even fewer of San Pedro Belize hotels who can boast such a title. Being eco in no way makes the offerings from Xanadu bare-bones or less robust, this property complements their accommodation offerings to their guests with a full range of aquatic tours, water sports and even inland excursions to some of Belize’s most popular landmarks. As a testament to their commitment to sustainability, Xanadu isn’t equipped with a restaurant in order to encourage guests to venture our into the island to have culinary experiences amongst the locals of the area – Hats off to you Xanadu! For those of you who fancy yourselves lovers of mother earth and of your significant other; Xanadu hosts and plans weddings with flexible offerings for your day to be absolutely what you always dreamed it would be.
Mid End San Pedro Belize Hotels:
Pedro’s Inn
Pedro’s Inn/Hotel is a cozy establishment one block behind Coconut Drive; the main road that bisects San Pedro Town. The first added bonus to Pedro’s is they serve both mid range and budget travelers with their diverse offering of rooms. The cool environment here extends into the restaurant and bar downstairs where you can admire the Jagermeister wall, enjoy the different themed days and try their absolutely phenomenal pizzas. Both their pools are open 24 hrs daily so you can enjoy some water fun any time you like or picnic on ground and enjoy the island air from the courtyard. Pedro’s is great for international travels as they speak English, Spanish, French, and are even conversant in German and Italian.
Pro tip: They have a two for one pizza night on Saturdays!
Hostel La Vista
Don’t be fooled by the name; Hostel la vista is another multi tier establishment like Pedro’s. With a Deluxe beachview private suite this “Hostel” is pretty versatile in hosting travellers of diverse budgets. The third floor is a large open flat equipped with couches, a coffee table between them, bar stools at the balcony, and hammocks to swing your night away in. Located centrally, quite literally next to some of the most popular night life watering holes in San Pedro every island amenity is right at your finger tips
Pro Tip: If you’re into it – they mix up rum punch every evening after 7 for guests hanging out in fornt of the dorms.
Belizean Reef
Belizean Reef is not so much a hotel as it is a Condo-vacation apartment rental. Being able to rent out a beach front condo that wont brak your bank account into bits is really heavensent. Belizean reef is located in central San Pedro right along side many other popular properties and sports a gorgeous view of the sea and reef from their rooftop deck. This one is perfect for you independent travelers who prefer to cater for thelseves as it’s equipped with full kitchens and your own living space, including balconies so you can inhabit the island any way you please.
Corona Del Mar Hotel and Apartments
Corona Del Mar is situated aboout 1/2 mile outside of town making it one of the more peaceful properties in this category. Another entry that is perfect for self reliant travelers who like to sleep in late, continental breakfast is offer right on the beach (what could be better than the beach?) and the apartments are fully equipped living spaces as well. South of San Pedro town is some of the clearest water for swimming and underwater photography with visibility stretching for 75 ft or even more on some days so be sure to pack your waterproof camera and phone case.
Budget San Pedro Belize Hotels:
Holiday Hotel
Holiday hotel is a downtown favorite. Situated right beside the heart of San Pedro town, Holiday Hotel is also party central! The beach directly infront of the property is host to many events during Easter, Lobsterfest, and Costa Maya Festival throughout the year and is probably the best place ot be if you dont want to stay too far from the action. The Caprice restaurant is right downstairs and offers some of the best of Belizean dining serving all the local favorites one would expect.
Pro Tip: Stay if you want a party, but maybe avoid if you like quiet.
Spindrift Hotel
Spindrift hotel is another “at the heart” establishment that sits opposite the park from Holiday hotel and offers economy rooms for as low as $58usd! Enjoying the island and San Pedro town is sort of a no brainer with deals such as those. Spindrift is equipped with a restaurant/lounge downstairs that overlooks the piers and beach so you can relax to the sound of waves and watch boats skim across the ocean a few hundred feet out to sea.
Hotel San Pedrano
San Pedrano Hotel is most likely the first establishment you see when you get off the San Pedro Belize Express boats (okay maybe the second). The ease of access, clean rooms, great rates and even greater staff are what make this hotel such a draw. There arent much bells and whistles to this place but it is clean, safe and friendly on a budget. The grocery store down stairs will ensure you keep stocked up on anything you may have forgotten to pack before or items you didn’t know you’d need, and you probably wouldn’t be late for your boat outa there either!
