Chaa Creek Staff Start The Year Off By Bringing School Supplies (and smiles) To Belizean Students
After a busy holiday season entertaining guests and friends from around the world, Chaa Creek staff returned to the business of thinking globally and acting locally by distributing the fruits of our Pack-a-Pound program to deserving, and very grateful, young Belizean students.
As our visitors and regular readers know, Pack-a-Pound is a long running program that involves Chaa Creek’s guests packing a pound or more of school supplies – or posting them when they return home – to be distributed to needy Belizean schoolchildren.
The 2018 program began January 24th with our tireless staffers, Brion Young and Denise Duran, traveling to schools in the nearby villages and communities of Santa Elena, Central Farm, and Santa Familia to hand out some 165 pounds of donated school supplies.
You can learn more about Pack-a-Pound, and other community projects carried out under our Chaa Creek Cares initiative here, but for now, we think the smiles and reactions from the students speak for themselves.
And prove, once again, that doing good feels good.
The staff and management of Chaa Creek join the teachers and principals of Belizean schools in thanking our many guests whose generosity have made Pack-a-Pound so successful over the years
