Travel to Belize Just got EASIER!
Believe it or not, traveling to Belize is now more convenient than ever. With the introduction of a new digital immigration and customs declaration system, along with its new direct flights from the United States traveling to Belize is now easier than ever.
Starting December 1st, 2024, travelers entering and leaving Belize through the Philip Goldson International Airport can now submit their forms online before traveling. A three-month phased introduction will facilitate a smooth transition to a fully online process. During this test phase, both printed and digital forms will be accepted. In the second phase, the system will be extended to all ports of entry; this is expected to be on February 1st, 2025.
This program is led by the Belize government’s Department of Border Management and Immigration Services and the Customs and Excise Department in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics, and EGovernance.

The process is very straightforward. Once the link is clicked, it automatically leads you to a Belize Immigration form website, where you will be required to input personal information along with details of your trip. Upon arrival at the Philip Goldson Airport, immigration and customs officials will have your information ready, making the process more efficient.

Other Traveling Tips:
- Keep in mind that citizens from the United States, United Kingdon, and Canada are not required to have a visa to travel to Belize. European Union (EU) and CARICOM members also fall under this exception.
- US dollars are accepted across the country to a rate of two-to-one, try to carry around smaller bills as it is easier to make changes.
- Your passport must be valid for at least three months after your arrival date.
- Visitors are usually given a one-month/30-day stay, after which an extension can be applied for at the nearest Immigration department.
