Officially known as the Children’s Summer Camp Scholarship Program, the Eco-Kids camp is held each year at Chaa Creek’s rustic Macal River Camp, down the Macal River from the main resort and the Natural History Centre, Butterfly Farm, Maya Medicinal Plant Trail, Hilltop Spa and other rainforest attractions.
This year is the “New Beginning” for the Maya. I love to climb Maya temples and see the jungle from a new dimension. Imagine if I found an Ancient Maya spear head, clay pot or jade artifact? There is so little that is known about the Ancient Maya it would be amazing to find cool stuff to show the world and tell their story.
I want to be a eco kid so that I may learn to recycle things and make a better place out of our country. No matter how small I am I can always help my home country, especially if I live in Belize.
