The Lodge at Chaa Creek is making their “Springtime Romance in Belize” initiative even more enticing this year with significant discounts and a commitment to “go the extra distance” for couples during the coming months, the eco resort’s holiday planner Denise Duran announced recently.

“Once again, Cupid rules during the entire month of February here at Chaa Creek, where we’re offering some seductive specials and lots of loving attention,” Mr Waight said, “Belize is a lover’s playground all year round, but during February we go the extra distance to make sure our guests enjoy the most romantic getaway on the planet. We pioneered adventure romance in Belize years ago and we’re all looking forward to making February 2013 our most loving month yet,” he said.

As if Maya culture, history and tradition are not reason enough to inspire 300 words of prose regarding our genuine enthusiasm for Chaa Creek’s planned activities including interactive workshops, seminars, lessons on Maya farming, arts & crafts, Maya medicine and holistic healing, I’ve managed to put off writing this for the better part of three weeks because I was looking for that extra spark to inspire me.

Chaa Creek’s marketing administrator Larry Waight said that the eco resort has seen a rise in what it calls “romance adventure packages”, where couples opt to mix their celebrations with tropical adventures such as exploring Maya temples and archaeology sites, diving the Caribbean and Belize Barrier Reef, canoeing jungle rivers, horseback or mountain bike excursions and other activities.

This is a beautiful eco-lodge where you will feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest. We stayed in the cottage room and it was beautiful! The room and bathroom are very spacious and beautifully decorated. We also enjoyed cocktails and dinners on our private balcony. It was like having a jungle symphony every night. We could hear howler monkeys, birds and cicada bugs (which sound like loud crickets). The food in the restaurant is amazing.
