The Kinkajou can be found in the Americas with its habitat spanning from northern Mexico to the south of Brazil, nearly half the continent. It is also commonly referred to as the Honey Bear, night walker or Potto.

I would like to visit a Belize rain forest for a once -in-a-lifetime opportunity to see nature up close and learn about the lush variety of plants and animals that still live in their natural habitat before they are lost – just the way the diversity of life has been lost where I live. The diversity is greater, the colors are brighter and more exotic in Belize, with rare tropical birds and lush native flowers. The Mayans that lived in Belize long ago have left archaeological treasures that I would love to explore and learn about. A trip to Belize would be an experience I will always remember, especially if I get to see the Great Blue Hole.

Chaa Creek is located in the Belize rainforest. Along the way to and from our resort, where you can enjoy going on an ecotourism adventure, explore caves by tubing, or even walk on the paths and steps built by Mayans, looking at thousand year old temples from an amazingly advanced culture, but to get here, you will likely travel right by an amazing snorkeling or diving opportunity.

The reality is that we are in the rain forest. Even in the Belize Zoo, animals will be animals. The Tapir is the National Animal of Belize & sometimes may have a wild way of greeting you.

Sometimes visiting the local zoo can be a great warm up for the actual rain forest when you are traveling with a family. This will let you and your kids can get up close and personal with animals in a slightly more controlled environment.

The Blue Morpho Butterfly Farm continues to be a major attraction as people marvel at the splendid iridescent wings of these magnificent butterflies.
