1. Placencia Peninsula

Placencia is a village on the southern tip of a small strip of land in southern Belize. The entire village is practically a beach and as you can see in the photo above, that’s not entirely a bad thing!

2. Ambergris Caye

Ambergris Caye off the northern coast of Belize is home to San Pedro town and some of the Jewel’s most beautiful white sand beaches. Insider tip: Definitely head for “Secret Beach” on the north-eastern side of the island, this little cove boasts crystal clear water at chest level stretching 100m from the shore-line, a must see!

South Water Caye is, as its name suggests, another of Belize’s Southern gems. The draw of this little island apart from that gorgeous beach, of course, is the “Private island” feel exuded by this secluded get-away destination.

4. Laughing Bird Caye

Laughing bird caye (so named because of the gulls common to the area) is a national park off the southern coast of Belize. The minuscule island is perched on a “faro” and is surrounded by abundant sea and reef life that make snorkeling quite the wondrous experience! The island also boasts having a prime Belize beach with glistening white sands and palm trees for shade, you’ll wish you were there now!

5. Half Moon Caye

Half Moon Caye is one of Belize’s most historically interesting islands; in 1924 it was the first wildlife sanctuary in Belize and in Central America. It has since then been named one of Belize’s natural monuments and now one of the most beautiful beaches.

Tobacco Caye can be described as a little beach in the middle of the sea. This little island only measures 240m long and 125m wide, you can walk across it in about 5 minutes and is only populated by the resort staff and visiting guests, literally a perfect Belize Beach for the perfect getaway.

    #8 is my photo of South Water Caye. No worries, everyone wants to be like South Water Caye, don’t think there is an island to compare in Belize.
