Best Belize Hotels To Suit Every Accommodation Budget
It’s easy to look up a certain town or package and say “cool, this looks like exactly what I want to do” but sometimes looking at a country as a whole makes it pretty difficult to discern what’s what. While we can’t dictate to you where to go in Belize (Cayo is a pretty safe bet for a good time!) we can tell you the best Belize Hotels to stay wherever you plan to go to fit almost any budget.
Here is our list of the best Belize Hotels to stay at:
Hotels In Northern Belize
Corozal and Orange Walk – the center for Belize’s sugar and rum production (among other things of course). Home of ASR, L&R, A&R (They seem to like their ‘r’s) and the capital of Belize’s taco food craze sits at the north and connect the rest of us to Mexico. If you visited Belize and didn’t party until sunrise in Orange Walk then you missed out on a part of authentic Belizean culture. That said The north has its own range of interesting accommodations to host you while you get your tacos fix.
De La Fuente Hotel – Orange Walk
The Hotel De La Fuente is nestled right out of the center of orange walk town, a two-minute walk from the central park and town hall. This quaint hotel has a homey yet modern vibe that extends from its rooms to the comfy reading lounge in the front and breakfast cafe right next to that. While this hotel isn’t what would traditionally be “high” budget, it is on the higher end of the spectrum for Orange Walk.
El Gran Mestizo – Orange Walk
A parallel to the De La Fuente, El Gran Mestizo hotel is the sister property that sits along the meandering new river that makes its way past the side of town. Equipped with condo/apartment styled accommodations and a restaurant just a few feet away, El Gran mestizo is a great place to put your feet up and disconnect while enjoying some great northern Belize cuisine.
Las palmas – Corozal
Las palmas hotel in Corozal (the northernmost district) is a tall edifice that peers out of the relaxingly teal Corozal Bay. The most immediately perceptible perks of this place? The gorgeous sunrise views over the bay and the refreshing salt water air that rolls its way in from further out. Corozal is a sleepy little town with a few, little known, choice spots to take a dip and grab a bite to eat. It’s proximity to Chetumal, Mexico, make it a great rest stop for travelers who find themselves on this route when dark is beginning to approach.
Lamanai Landing – Orange Walk
Looking back to the Orange walk area in the middle category is Lamanai Landings hotel. Situated beside a small lagoon that feeds off the river, Lamanai landing and its adjoined restaurant is a great place to stop for the night if you’re on a long-haul or if you intend to make your way to or coming back late from the Mayan ruin that is up the river. The restaurant at Lamanai landing serves up some awesome Belizean food and the bar specials and drinks will keep you entertained in the otherwise quiet surroundings of the highway village that surrounds it.
St Christopher hotel – Orange Walk
We must start out by saying that being in the “low budget” category should for no reason muddle what you expect from an establishment. The St Christopher is priced at between $35 and $70usd making it a desirable stop for a traveler on a budget. The accommodations include coffee and tropical fruits in the morning, and free wifi so you can stay connected during your stay and even a pay phone for when the situation calls for it. Their information desk is informative and is equipped to offer you tours to nearby Lamanai as well.
Hotels on Belize Islands
The islands of Belize are Hype central; even if what gets you hyped up is pretty chill. We say that because whatever your draw is, be it a party, relaxation, adventure, or a complete disconnect from the world we have an island to suit your tastes. You can hit up San Pedro for a party, Caye caulker for a chill weekend or somewhere remote like South Water Caye to be completely surrounded by the sea and nature – the choice really is yours.
Las Terrazas – situated on the northern side of the island of Ambergris caye, is a fun loving paradise fit for all travelers from the go slow to the pedal to the metal types. For those of you who like watersports and exotic cuisine; Las Terrazas offers their guests, complimentary use of their watersport toys and for those of you who want to go for a quick sail you may even use their Hobie cats during your stay. Additionally, this property operates sea tours to go snorkeling and diving in Belize’s most pristine attraction areas. After a long day of adventure, you can pull up to the poolside bar or make your way to the rooftop sky lounge for a refreshing cocktail before making it to the onside “O” restaurant. O restaurant combines Caribbean tastes with international flavors for exquisite fusions of cuisine that will dazzle any taste buds. If your aim is to take it easy and melt all your stress away then take a walk over to their 70ft (yes that is feet…) infinity pool for a dip – but not before you book a spa treatment with Cindy (the Spa Manager) for later that day.
Located on Ambergris Caye, south of the town of San Pedro is Victoria House Resort. Being located on the party island does nothing to dampen the calm energy and relaxing pace of being surrounded by this quaint, colonial style resort and spa. Victoria house is a dream come true for honeymooners as the fully equipped property is prepared to handle all your romantic fantasies on the sands and if adventure is your idea of romance you’re still in the right place. Their Palmilla restaurant serves the best in gourmet dining in their dinner hall, as well as romantic ensembles on their pier, and tropical cocktails at their bar ensuring you’re as satisfied as you are amazed by everything else.
Weezie’s Ocean Front Hotel and Garden Cottages
Weezie’s Ocean Front Hotel is located in the birthplace of “Go Slow” in Belize. Caye caulker is a sleepy little fishing village/island where some people still live the same way they have since before our Independence from England. Weezie’s has a laid back charm – the kind that is prevalent on the island but nowhere to be found in their careful attention to detail. Their sea-front location and pier wit ha thatch-roofed palapa at the end make getting a tan or taking a dip labor-less.
Yet another beach front entry – because really and truly what is the point of staying on a Caribbean island if you can’t wake up and stroll right onto the beach? Holiday Hotel is situated right in the middle of San Pedro town and is host to many a party throughout the year. Staying here is for anyone who likes to be near the heart of the action all the time. The central location, of course, allows for easy access to the all the downtown amenities such as tour companies, dive shops, restaurants, nightclubs and convenience stores. One of the best Belize Hotels to be right in the middle of the island action.
Hostel La Vista
Hostel La Vista, like some of the other entries on this island section, has seen some action in another blog before. We had to mention them again because it’s hard to beat their price, versatility, and location. Offering up dorms, private rooms and a top level sea view suite ensures that they have something for near everyone. Their third-floor deck offers up some gorgeous morning views and the couches and hammocks offer you a perch to take a breather whenever you’d like. For you adventurous party goers, Hostel La Vista is situated directly in front of the seaside park, right next to Jaguar’s Temple night club and a stone throw away from Fidos – two of the most popular watering holes in town.
San Pedrano Hotel
The San Pedrano hotel is likely the first hotel you’ll see after getting off a San Pedro Belize express boat. An unassuming little hotel set atop a grocery store that provides amazing value for their accommodations. The rooms are clean and come with air conditioning, private baths, and television to soak up whatever downtime you might have between your activities. The grocery store downstairs will stick you up with whatever miscellaneous items you might have forgotten while packing and the downtown location puts you front and center for all that San Pedro has to offer.
Hotels in Belize City
The Old capital and still the center of most of our international commerce, and international arrivals. Belize City is a center of history and heritage as it houses many first of their kind buildings in the country. Some establishments such as St Johns Cathedral and the Bliss institute for performing arts are the only buildings of their types in all of Belize. Our largest/oldest museum and even our central bank make Belize city their base of operations.
Radisson Fort George hotel
The Radisson hotel and Marina is a mainstay of the Belize City hotel scene. As a member of the Carlson hotel rewards program members can book nights by redeeming points. Situated beside the sea and Lighthouse, the rooms in the Radisson have gorgeous views of the sea, and most accessibility amenities available as options for guests. The near by Le Petit cafe offers scrumptious fresh baked treats, coffee, tea and a variety of breakfast and dessert related food options to get you up and going in the morning. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to take a drink after a day of being up and about, just beside the Radisson is Tinto y Blanco a wine bar that will satisfy that urge for a tall glass.
Best Western Biltmore Plaza
The Best Western Belize Biltmore plaza on the Philip Goldson Highway is a relatively new addition to the city’s repertoire of accommodations. This inner city resort is fully equipped with all the things you’d imagine from a Best Western; conference rooms, swimming pool, gym, restaurant, bar and a courtyard for when you fancy an outdoor stroll. This site offers Free Parking, complimentary Wifi, and complimentary in-room coffee or tea. The location other than being easily accessible is safe for travelers and locals alike, so cast away your reservations and make yourself at home when staying here.
Located near the sea in the scenic north side of Belize City in a neighborhood named Buttonwood Bay is Villa Boscardi. This charming little bed & breakfast is a family-owned establishment offers quaint and tasteful accommodations that are decorated in a markedly European style with a little tropical flare. The spacious rooms along with the hearty and healthy breakfasts served here in the mornings are just what you need to get you rested and energized for a day of exploring Belize. The property is set within a residential area making it safe and easy to navigate and the cheerful owners and staff are always around and happy to help direct you toward anywhere you need to be.
Red Hut Inn
The Red Hut Inn – possibly so named for its red roof – is a guesthouse located just a few miles from the international airport in an upscale seafront neighborhood. The Red Hut offers transfers to most destinations of transit within the city including the airport, municipal airport (for domestic flights) the water taxi terminal and the bus terminal. They serve breakfast and dinner with every room night which certainly is a boon for the weary traveler who just got off their plane ride. If you find yourself liking Belize so much that you feel the need to come back for good, the kind people at the Red Hut will help you in the process of becoming a permanent and legal resident of our little slice of paradise!
D’ Nest Inn
D’nest is a cozy guest house located just outside the main “city” boundary. The comfy rooms (all named after birds) are all themed and decorated differently and range from honeymoon setting to family type. The dining room of this guest house is a wonderful place to meet other travelers staying there. The gothic windows that surround the dining room give way to a large french door that let you out into their gorgeous garden where you’re almost guaranteed to find chirping birds and an actual nest or two. There’s a very relaxed atmosphere about D’nest, cozy is definitely their thing, you’ll definitely enjoy it.
Hotels in Cayo, Belize
The foodie and adventure capital of Belize is Cayo – and the towns held within the district borders. Cayo is home to the Maya Mountains, both the Macal and Mopan (what passes through) rivers and the starting point of the Belize River. Caracol and Xunantunich are perched on hilltops overlooking the countryside and San Ignacio – the hub of all this lies off to the west nestled in the hills. Cayo is always poised for another exhilarating expedition and ready to welcome you back and refuel you with exquisitely varied cuisines from all over the globe.

The district of Stann Creek is largely considered the culture capital of Belize for the rich daily displays of the local ethnic groups who call the region home. Stann creek is home to some of the most quaint fishing villages and where most of our oranges and bananas come from, and certainly the home of the Garifuna people and their food. Hats off to you Stann creek for being host to so many of Belizeans’ favorite things!

To think a country so small could still have nigh untouched regions is hard to imagine – but despite that, there is Toledo.
