Chaa Creek’s Belize Cure For The Blues
A Natural Remedy Guaranteed To Make You Feel Better
Let’s face it, it’s been a long last few months…
Here at Chaa Creek, we’re used to being busy – with our guests, maintaining the grounds, pool and buildings, looking after horses, tending the gardens and farm, and a zillion other things - so this new inactivity started getting to us. You know the feeling.
We were talking about that, when suddenly, just like in the cartoons, a lightbulb appeared above our heads.
Get up and do stuff!
We instantly felt better.
So much better that, for the next month, we’re going to offer a weekly activity as a Rx for the Blues. And, like any effective prescription, it must meet certain criteria:
- Healthy – after being stuck inside, this is numero uno
- Universal – something everyone can enjoy on their own, or with friends and family
- Easy – no special skills or equipment required
- Affordable – because there’s not a lot of money around right now, and
- Fun – because, otherwise, what’s the point?
Makes sense? It does to us, too. So, without further ado, here’s this week’s Boredom Buster, a Rx for the Blues
Belize Nature Walks
Does it satisfy our checklist?
Healthy – Walking about breathing all that fresh air supplied by the living forest, exercising tired muscles and stimulating the senses as you interact with all this wild nature booming around you. Check!
Universal – Nature walks are something anyone of any age or background can enjoy. Whether alone with your thoughts or with family or friends, it’s a wonderful experience. Check!
Easy – All you need is comfortable shoes, a water bottle or canteen, maybe a hat and some insect repellent, and you’re there. With miles of signposted trails running throughout those 400 acres of nature, hikers, walkers, strollers and even runners can stay close to the Lodge, or wander as far as they wish. Easy-Peasy. And check!
Affordable – Chaa Creek doesn’t charge guests to access the nature reserve. Book accommodations for a day, or, better yet, a weekend away with family, friends or that certain someone, and this is one of the Freebie Activities that await. Check!
Fun – With the jungle as your playground, and so much to do around the Lodge, you can’t help to have fun. Check and Check!
There are several ways to enjoy the surrounding rainforest – we highly recommend a guided nature walk, where one of our knowledgeable naturalist guides use their training, experience, and passion to open up the wonders of the rainforest. Guides are adept at noticing and pointing out things most people will pass by - like that owl sleeping in a tree hollow. Or a shy spider monkey. Nature is very clever with camouflage, yet so are our guides…
You’re also free to self-guide. Just take your time and you’ll be amazed at what you notice.
Jungle safari – An ATV, or All-Terrain Vehicle, driven by a guide, covers more ground in less time and takes you through a variety of stunning environments.
Then, when you return to the Lodge, great food, cool drinks, convivial conversation and relaxation await. You can enjoy a swim in the pool, or just take it easy swinging in a hammock our lounging around the pool.
OK - We’ve written the prescription, and all you need to do to fill it is make your way to Chaa Creek. Doctor Nature will do the rest.
Visit the Chaa Creek website and have a look at all the magic that awaits. And then contact us and speak with one of our adventure planners - we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how affordable all these activities and casual luxury can be. You’ll return home with a smile on your face and a spring in your step – guaranteed.
