Book Now for 2014 Belize Romance Specials at Chaa Creek
The Lodge at Chaa Creek is encouraging couples to book now for a romantic start to the new year with special 2014 “Romantic Belize” Vacation Packages.
Chaa Creek’s guest services manager, Denise Duran, who specialises in “romance travel” and oversees the Belizean eco-resort’s wedding, honeymoon and romance packages, said that she and her staff will be paying special attention to couples from the beginning of January through to St Valentine’s Day, which is traditionally celebrated at Chaa Creek as St Valentine’s Month.
“For some years now we’ve been celebrating February as St Valentines month, since we have too much on offer to confine it to one day. It’s always such a popular month that we’re starting early this year, with extra attention being paid to the Hilltop Spa, in-room candlelit dinners and some of our new romantic travel attractions,” Ms Duran said.
Ms Duran said that new romantic adventures will include Macal River Safaris on a traditional Belizean “John boat”, the Miss Macal, that will transport passengers to a bygone era of jungle river travel. “Think Bogart and Hepburn on a small, tidy ‘African Queen’ with a lot more comfort,” Ms Duran said.
There are also new epicurean horseback or mountain bike picnics, leisurely downstream river tube floats from the Belize Botanic Gardens to Chaa Creek and the “La Capitana” Vaca Lake excursions, which have proven to be a popular for those wishing to explore a remote part of the Belize hinterland in floating comfort aboard a motorised pontoon with an ample supply of refreshments and local knowledge.
“We’ve also added regular, daily departures to and from San Ignacio town for our day tour packages and day trippers wanting to explore an extra bit of local colour together, although downstream canoe trips to town are still popular. And with Tropic Air’s new service to Belize City, Ambergris Caye and Placencia from the Maya Flats airstrip at our front door, combining a rainforest, ancient Maya temple excursion and Caribbean sea holiday from Chaa Creek has never been easier,” she said.
Ms Duran said that all-inclusive Belize vacation packages, including wedding and honeymoon specials can be found on the Chaa Creek website, and that she will personally ensure special attention is paid to couples who book during the months of January and February.
“What better way to start the year with that special someone than with an intimate jungle adventure? It can’t help but set the tone for the rest of 2014.
“Imagine starting your year together off with days beginning with a lovely breakfast with flowers, tropical fruits and fresh juices, and perhaps a swim in the pool before hiking, horseback or mountain bike riding along the miles of trails through our 365 acre nature reserve. Exploring an ancient Maya temple, or paddling a canoe together down the beautiful Macal River before a late lunch, a couple’s massage at the Hilltop Spa, and then enjoying our special cocktails before having a romantic candle light dinner on your private veranda. A soak in the Jacuzzi with a glass of bubbly surrounded by the gentle night time forest sounds is an intimate experience you’ll never forget.
“We know how much these experiences mean to couples, so we remain flexible and sensitive to special requirements and wishes. All couples need to do is ask, and we’ll go out of our way to make sure that their dream romantic adventure is everything they hoped for,” she said.
Ms Duran explained that Chaa Creek, which began as a small family farm before Mick and Lucy Fleming opened their doors to travellers over 30 years ago, is in a unique position to give lovers that personal touch.
“That’s the advantage of being a family run eco resort and not part of a corporate chain. We’re large, surrounded by 365 acres of private nature reserve with a staff of over 130 people and a huge range of activities, but we can provide the personal touch and cater to individual tastes. Our emphasis is on satisfying our guests, and that’s something people recognise and appreciate.
“Besides, we love what we do, and I think it shows. I’ve been coordinating romance travel for years now and never get tired of seeing the smiles on couples’ faces,” she added.
