As I searched several tropical destinations for my children and me to visit, the Lodge at Chaa Creek and Belize would be the ultimate getaway and life-time experience that I’m sure we will all treasure forever. As a single mother, with three children ages 9, 10 and 12, exploring the tropical rain-forests and experiencing, appreciating and learning about our earth, the beauty and importance of protecting and preserving wildlife and their habitat is extremely important to me. We have never been out of the United States and my 12 year old daughter wishes to become a marine biologist and loves wildlife. We have explored many zoos and museums, but to have a virtual hands on experience walking and swimming alongside these amazing creatures in their natural environment, will certainly teach my children the fragile world in which they live and how important it is to respect our earth, the people and creatures that live in it. What an awe it would be for us to experience this. My 9 year old son was diagnosed with type 1 insulin-dependent diabetes at 3 years old and we’ve had many trials, but I want to show all of my children that they can do anything, go anywhere and to how to appreciation the beauty, cultures and uniqueness of all people and places. I know that if we are blessed with this Belize trip, it will be an adventure that will fill our hearts forever.
