Southwest Airlines Starts Direct Flight to Belize Today

New Non-stop Flight From Houston to Belize!

Houston, we have liftoff!

Today we celebrate together with our friends from Southwest Airlines for their first new NONSTOP flight from Houston Hobby International Terminal to Belize City International Airport.

Southwest’s Senior Communications Advisor, Brad Hawkins, said the airline will allow passengers to and from Belize to carry two bags of up to 50 pounds each for free.

Southwest Airlines does not charge a change or cancellation fee. If you cancel within 24-hours after purchase, the credit card charge will be reversed. If you cancel any time after that they will give you a voucher worth the full value of your ticket, valid for one year. The voucher is not transferable but it’s better than getting stuck with a change fee.

During his visit to San Pedro, Belize in February of this year, Hawkins, stressed that Southwest Airlines is the number one carrier in the United States, indicating that the airline is not just for budget travelers, but for all kinds of travelers who will be coming to Belize.

Southwest, which operates 3,600 flights per day, began operating international routes in July 2014. It will serve 12 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean with the launch of the Liberia service next month.

We believe this new flight will add much needed competition and much needed relief from some of the highest international fares in the country.

This new service to Belize, will make it much easier for our US and Canadian friends to hop down for a holiday!

See you in paradise soon!
