Chocolate, long referred to in Belize as “the food of the gods”, is also known as the food of love, and features prominently during Chaa Creek’s Valentine’s Month of Love celebrations, according to the eco resort’s food and beverage manager Bryony Fleming.
This week we had the privilege of hosting two of Japan’s most acclaimed R&B Singers and Rappers. They were at Chaa Creek to film a TV Show entitled “The Danga Travler” which is about two accomplished popular musicians who were childhood friends and after many years of not seeing each other, they decided to vacation in Belize because of its absolute beauty, wonderful weather and friendly atmosphere.
Over the years Chaa Creek has received numerous awards and accolades, and this new Trip Advisor recognition is particularly satisfying because it comes straight from international travellers themselves.
CNN’s recent acknowledgment of the “World of the Maya” as one of the top nine travel destinations for 2012 is one more indication that Belize’s year of the Maya 2012 celebrations are set to be a big hit with international visitors, Belize’s premier eco resort Chaa Creek reports.
The ancient Maya civilization’s many achievements include a written language, advanced mathematics, sophisticated surgery, and astrological calculations that continue to astound scholars… and the list goes on.
But for many people, the Maya’s greatest achievement is something loved all over the world today—chocolate.
The highly sought after Green Globe worldwide certification is considered to be the “International Standard for Sustainability” and is granted only after a rigorous auditing process against recognised benchmarks and carbon footprint calculations. I’m going to Belize in 2 weeks! I have been invited by the Belize Tourist Board on a “FAM” trip. This is travel industry lingo for “familiarization”. I, along with a bunch of other travel industry professionals, are going on a somewhat insane itinerary: we will visit 27 hotels in 5 days! I wouldn’t call that fun, but many of these are places I have heard of for years but never gotten to, and I am looking forward to seeing them. We will be staying in San Ignacio, Mountain Pine Ridge, Placencia, Hopkins, and San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. I’ll be posting more about the trip when I get there.
We should help the environment by recycling; reusing, reducing .some of the ways we can help is carpooling throwing garbage in its proper place, not burning garbage, planting more tree, using less electricity ,and more solar power. If we do not keep our environment clean it would no longer be a beautiful and special place to life our life. To be an eco kid you have to be loyal to the earth and to help to restore the natural beauty of the world and save some species in danger of extinction.
All of Andrew Harper’s recommended properties possess exceptional character, a commitment to classic hospitality and a profound sense of place. Mr. Harper does not evaluate hotels by means of a checklist, but uses his three decades of experience to distinguish the truly enchanting from the merely excellent. The Lodge at Chaa Creek is delighted to be among the best of the best properties worldwide to receive his recommendation, which came initially in 1992.
We only have one planet and we need to and we need to conserve our resources. Imagine the destruction one little disruption like pollution, deforestation, soil erosion, etc may cause. Pollution is a serious problem. The contamination of the environment may lead to diseases and creates an inhabitable place. It is very important that we have a clean and safe place to live in. If we don’t conserve our ecosystem endangered species of plants and animals may die out. This affects the food webs and the normal conditions of the habitats.
Belize is a wonderful melting pot of culinary extremes; a tantalizing mixture of Caribbean spices, African vegetables and Central American cooking styles can be found in all corners of Belize. The seafood is delicious and the lobster is world-class, particularly along the Northeast part of the country. The following is a list of my favorite foods in Belize
Belize has many natural beauties which we need to protect and preserve. We as young children growing up in today’s society need to be educated at first hand experiences and learn how to protect our jewel in the Belize forest. By educating us about our natural resources, it helps to be aware of the importances and reasons why God created them.
The Lodge at Chaa Creek is ending the year on a high note and with another award after recently being acknowledged as one of the world’s finest destinations, according to the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Gold List for 2010.
