When I heard the term EcoKid the first thing that came to my mind was how my ideas can be helpful to my school and my beautiful Yo Creek. I looked around and saw that garbage is a great problem in my environment. I believe that garbage should be a great concern to everyone and this starts at school. I can see that the amount of garbage produced at school is a lot.
I want to be an eco-kid because I want to preserve nature. Nature is all living things that God created for us to enjoy. He created all animals, plants and even us humans. When I look at the rainforest, I would like to just start planting more and more trees so that it would grow more and more beautiful for all to view and enjoy.
Going to camp at Chaa Creek will be awesome because I want to learn about nature and Belize. I would love to go to learn more about the forest. I like the forest because it is a nice natural resource. My village has Maya ruins, monkeys and some forest. We have more jaguars now come really close because some of the forest is being cut down by the Menonites. That is a little sad.

I want to be an eco-kid because I love nature and would like to help to protect the rainforest. When I visit the rainforest, the shade from the canopy of tree refreshes me. The smell of green trees relaxes me and the singing of the birds inspires me.

I want to start by saying that there are many ways to be an eco-kid, but one main reason why I want to be one. I want to be an eco-kid, well, because I just love nature.

I am very glad when I hear the word “Eco” or “Recycle” because those are words of two wonderful ideas. I have been recycling for quite a while with bottles, containers, and plastic items and dropping them off at the Radisson Recycling Center in Belize City . Now in my house they call me the ” Recycling Queen”.

In Belize you don’t need to go hunting for wildlife – sooner or later it will come to you. Case in point is earlier this month, May 23 to be exact, when we had both a crocodile and jaguar go roaming – all in one day. In Belize City, a crocodile was causing mischief when it left a storm drain to visit the neighborhood. The same day, a jaguar decided to take a walk – much to the concern of the authorities.
