I want to be an eco-kid because I love nature and would like to help to protect the rainforest. When I visit the rainforest, the shade from the canopy of tree refreshes me. The smell of green trees relaxes me and the singing of the birds inspires me.
Ms Fleming Bradley said the recently inaugurated direct flights from Maya Flats, near Chaa Creek, to Ambergris Caye makes it easier for Chaa Creek’s guests to attend the festivals this year. “You can have breakfast in the rainforest listening to parrots and toucans and then be dining on lobster next to the sparkling Caribbean that afternoon with one short plane ride in between. I want to start by saying that there are many ways to be an eco-kid, but one main reason why I want to be one. I want to be an eco-kid, well, because I just love nature.
“When the proposal to build a large cruise ship facility at Crawl Caye in Southern Belize was announced, alarm bells were set off all across the Belize,” Mr Young said. “It’s not just environmentalists who were concerned, but stakeholders in Belize’s tourism industry as well. I am very glad when I hear the word “Eco” or “Recycle” because those are words of two wonderful ideas. I have been recycling for quite a while with bottles, containers, and plastic items and dropping them off at the Radisson Recycling Center in Belize City . In Belize you don’t need to go hunting for wildlife – sooner or later it will come to you. Case in point is earlier this month, May 23 to be exact, when we had both a crocodile and jaguar go roaming – all in one day. In Belize City, a crocodile was causing mischief when it left a storm drain to visit the neighborhood. The same day, a jaguar decided to take a walk – much to the concern of the authorities.

Given the enthusiastic response during this week’s launch of a new book of stories, poems and drama at the Leo Bradley Library in Belize City, literature continues to thrive in Belize.
We think it’s a great idea that at least one Sunday a year we take time out to pay extra attention to that special someone who brought us into the world and introduced us to love.
First of all, I’ve done the math, and I don’t think I’d save any money by holidaying up here. We did it the year before last, and after the gas, admissions to parks and other attractions, eating out and everything else, we spent a lot more than we’d budgeted for.
