The Lodge at Chaa Creek is secreted away in a lush, lowland rainforest and paradoxically combines being a pioneer in eco-tourism with extemely comfortable adobe-walled cottages and excellent facilities. We were in Cottage 8 with its own wooden terrace and hammock that was surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens that were lit at night and close to the restaurant, the bar and shop. The choice of food and wines were excellent and the atmosphere was very friendly. The Lodge is run by the owners and a small team of well trained staff and guides and their interest in their guests is evident when they take the time to talk whenever they see you.
We recommend this property highly and you should consider staying here if you wish to visit the Tikal National Park in preference to La Lancha, which is closer, but nowhere as enjoyable.
