I just came back from Belize. I chose to spend the first half of my trip in the jungle and the 2nd half on the coast at Placencia. The stay at Chaa Creek was more memorable. The lodgings were incredibly comfortable. Large king size bed, 2 sink vanity and 2 shower head shower room. An outdoor shower with a veranda for 2 hammocks. The attitude of the staff was great. We visited 2 Maya sites, Caracol and Tikal. If you choose to got to Caracol, ask for Hugh. His knowledge of history, geology and flora and fauna made the trek to Caracol a great experience in learning. Remember, Belize is an English speaking country. The property is extremely large with trails for hiking and a nearby river for canoeing. It’s a pricey, but you get your money’s worth. It was great way to start my trip.
