We Would Be Thrilled to Honeymoon in Belize
Rainforest & Reef Vacation Sweepstakes Essay#30
Our adventure began almost four years ago now when we went on our first date. He disguised it as a Christmas present, “in case it didn’t go well.” We have been dating ever since, and are getting an apartment together next month. This past June, he completely surprised me while on a trip to Philadelphia, PA when he pulled out the engagement ring he had been hiding in his room at home for about a month. We are currently planning a fall wedding, October 8, 2011.
The first time I went waterfall-climbing with him, I thought he was crazy! He was climbing up these tall waterfalls without ropes or a worry of slipping to the pool below and getting hurt. With a little coaxing, I too climbed up this waterfall. And then another. And some more. Over the past four years, we have climbed more waterfalls in New York State than I ever knew existed! Creek-walking to get to waterfalls to climb became one of our favorite activities to do together, and we are constantly looking for new places to explore. Throw in some Adirondack and Catskill Mountain hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, and hopefully some day white water rafting, and you’ve got the activities for every free weekend we can get! Also, as often as our salaries allow, we travel to new places and explore for as long as we can.
For all of these reasons and more, we would be thrilled to honeymoon in Belize. The website from the resort as well as others about Belize in general shows us just the kind of adventures we would love to have as we continue our life adventure together. Add in the fact that neither of us has ever been outside the country (except Canada) or been anywhere remotely tropical, and we are convinced that Belize is the place we want to make our next adventure. With the high cost of having a wedding and reception for a large family, we would be honored to win the Chaa Creek Vacation Contest and check out all Belize has to offer!
