USA Today has recently confirmed something we knew all along – Chaa Creek is one of the best places in the world to take the family for that well needed Spring break.

The USA Today article, 10 great places to take the family for spring break by Monica Hortobagyi, selects destinations from around the world including Hawaii, Arizona’s Grand Canyon, the Bahamas and other exotic, family friendly holiday locations.

The article suggests that, “If traveling with the family leaves you needing a post-vacation vacation, consider booking an all-inclusive kid-friendly package to help put the “break” back into spring break” and goes on to list USA Today’s top ten picks.

Belize’s Chaa Creek was one of the top choices, with a description that read:

Nestled in the rainforest, this eco-friendly resort offers nature-loving families the opportunity to immerse themselves in well-preserved beauty and a different culture. Guests can focus on land-based activities, like horseback riding among Mayan ruins, or choose elements of surf and turf with the Jungle & Sea family package.

Chaa Creek’s guest services manager, Ben Awe said that management and staff were delighted to be selected by USA Today, and added that the Belize eco resort’s family friendliness is no accident.

“As an environmentally friendly eco resort that grew from the Fleming family’s small farm, Chaa Creek has always prided itself as being a place that entire families can enjoy,” Ben said.

“We offer a range of healthy activities that all members of the family can take part in, as well as special kids’ features to allow the parents some time off for themselves. For example, our The Eco Kids Adventure program provides active fun and learning for kids between the ages of six and fifteen and ensures they leave Belize with a hands-on knowledge and appreciation of their natural world.

“Our Natural History Centre sparks people’s curiosity about Belize’s fascinating ecology and Maya history. Families can then experience these things with lovely canoe trips down the Macal River, with nature walks or excursions to nearby Maya temples or guided tours along the Maya Medicinal Plant Trail to see first hand the plants and herbs still used today in traditional Maya healing. Chaa Creek offers unique experiences that really make the cultural and natural history of the area come alive.

“Of course a Chaa Creek family vacation is not all learning, and we definitely encourage just lounging around the pool, relaxing in a hammock or playing board games we keep on hand. With horseback riding and mountain biking along beautiful jungle trails, guided nighttime nature walks, early morning exotic bird watching and plenty of family friendly vacation activities, there’s pretty much something for every member of the clan. We also offer affordable family surf and turf packages for people wishing a complete Caribbean family vacation.

“Our friendly staff pays personal attention to guests of all ages, offering baby-sitting services and child friendly jungle safaris to ensure that the whole family has fun while sharing a truly special Belize adventure. Considering that kids up to 18 stay for free and also enjoy a number of complimentary activities, the Chaa Creek experience is an affordable holiday vacation the whole family will remember.

“It is great news that USA Today confirms something we all truly believe – Chaa Creek is a great place for affordable family vacations in Belize,” Mr. Awe said.
